I CAN sympathise with Tim Sintes, who
has been struck down with pneumonia
(pages 13 and 15).
The all-round good guy from Southshore
has been laid very low in recent weeks.
I know exactly how he is feeling. Pneumonia smashed me
about 18 months ago. I don’t smoke and I’m reasonably fit. And
like Tim, I’ve no idea how I got it.
I lost 9kg in just over a week, spent four days in hospital and
was off work for three weeks (the longest time I have ever been).
The doctor initially said I had a dose of the flu and I was sent
on my way. A week later when I struggled back to the doctor, she
dispatched me to hospital.
Be careful out there.

anniversary of Armistice Day last

health providers. It’s important
this work on the frontier of mentalhealth
delivery in our communities
is supported by all parties.

legislation if we’re to deliver policies
that help people get ahead. Rising
living costs have long-reaching
effects on families being able to
plan for their futures. We want
families to feel safe and financially
secure, and have access to good
