ABBOTSFORD JUNIORS FOOTBALL CLUB<br />
2018 YEARBOOK<br />
Mathew Maiese : Mathew played most of the season moving<br />
between midfield and attach, he scored 5 goals for the year<br />
making him a threat up forward, his great kicking ability meant he<br />
could shoot from long range, he was also one of the main corner<br />
takers, his height and size also made him a threat in the box, he<br />
scored our only headed goal from a corner for the year. His main<br />
role was in midfield where his poise on the ball and great kicking<br />
allowed him to set up forward attacks.<br />
Toby Denton: Toby has an exceptional ability to run and run and<br />
run, his work in midfield was one of the reasons the team was so<br />
successful, he was also able to move back into defence to assist<br />
with opposition team’s better players, he was also able to move<br />
forward scoring 3 goals for the season.<br />
Paris Oikonomou: Paris has exceptional ball skills, he constantly<br />
tormented teams from the left wing or midfield and was one our<br />
main attacking weapons, he has the ability to run with the ball and<br />
take on players, and usually got past them, he scored 4 goals for the<br />
season but made countless assists with his strong runs forward.<br />
Julian Mantle: Julian had an exceptional year, he has great skills<br />
with the ball, he has good speed and game awareness which made<br />
him a good user of the ball in<br />
midfield and a constant<br />
threat forward, his 13 goals,<br />
9 of his favoured left foot,<br />
made him the team’s top<br />
scorer for the season. Julian<br />
was one of only three players<br />
to play every match.<br />
Guerau Casado<br />
Ayats: Guerau, had a great<br />
start to the year scoring a<br />
hat-trick in our first game, he<br />
was a constant threat up<br />
forward with his speed and<br />
great ball skills, in the 10<br />
game that he played Guerau<br />
scored 7 goals, unfortunately<br />
for the team his family<br />
moved away midway<br />
through the season.<br />
Logan Brodie: In only his<br />
second year playing Logan<br />
moved between attack and<br />
defence, he proved to have<br />
great defensive skills as well<br />
as going forward and scoring<br />
goals, Logan scored a few<br />
times he went forward,<br />
unfortunately we lost him<br />
midway through the season<br />
due to other sporting<br />
commitments. Look out for<br />
his name in Ice Hockey<br />
