Waste Services over Christmas
Our waste collection team will be working over the
Christmas period so your bins will continue to be
serviced on your usual collection day, including
public holidays.
Please place your bins out on the kerbside the night
before your scheduled collection and return them to
your property as soon as possible after they have
been emptied.
Remember at Christmas to try think about the
environment and adopt the waste hierarchy of
avoid, reuse, recycle and finally dispose.
How to have a Wastewise Christmas
• Buy good quality decorations that can be reused
• Make your own greeting cards from recycled paper
• Give useful, practical gifts that won’t break easily
• Use newspaper or fabric to wrap your presents
• Avoid using single-use plastic items such as straws
• Recycle your wrapping paper, cardboard, bottles
and cans
• Save your gift bags, boxes, ribbons and bows for
next time
• Prevent food waste by serving smaller portions
• Save your leftovers and use them to create
