PUBLIC BUS SERVICES IN VALENCIA

Taking buses around Valencia will offer you the opportunity to get

around the city whilst seeing the sights as you travel. It is important to

remember that when you are taking the bus you will need to be

reasonably independent - you will not necessarily know when you need

to get off the bus so it can be more intimidating than catching the metro.

If you decide to travel by bus, it is worth considering buying combined

tickets that will allow you to take the bus as well as the tram and the

metro (see below for more details). The options include the Valencia

tourist card or the Integrated Transport Ticket.

Bus ticket prices:

Single journey: €1.50

Valencia Card: For full details, see our Valencia Tourist Card page.

Integrated Transport Ticket: For the various combined ticket options,

see our Valencia Metro page.

ways to get around the city. It is a comfortable way to travel in the

summer as there is air conditioning in the carriages.

TUIN TRAVEL CITY CARD

What is TuiN card?

The TuiN card is a smart, single travel card for travel throughout the Metrovalencia network with additional

advantages.

How to charge it?

It can be charged onto any contactless travel card (TSC) valid for the Metrovalencia network. In the future, it may

also be charged on an NFC telephone and external sales networks.

If you already own a TSC, you can charge it when the current balance runs out. Otherwise, you may purchase it

pre-charged at the price set by FGV.

Where to purchase it?

Nowadays, you can charge it at Metrovalencia Customer Service Centres (CAC) and Customer Service Kiosks,

where we will register your information to ensure you receive all of the advantages and help you resolve any

possible incidences. You can also recharge your card at any ticket vending machine within the Metrovalencia

network.

As of April 2015, you can charge cards directly at ticket vending machines, although we still recommend you

register at our customer service centres or online to receive all of the advantages that we offer (balance

reimbursement in case of loss or theft, recharging your card online, etc.).

Can I charge a new ticket if I still have journeys left from another ticket?

No. You must use your journeys before, then you can charge a new ticket.

What does it cost?

You can acquire the ticket by charging a minimum balance of 10 € on your card, and additional multiples of 1 € (you

may not charge cents).

When you want to recharge your card balance, the minimum amount is also 10 € (and additional multiples of 1 €).

I D E A S F O R N E W Y E A R ' S R E S O L U T I O N S !

2019 IS THE

YEAR TO...

1. Change your bad eating habits!

It's really important to be taking care of your body, and to keep yourself

mentally, emotionally and spiritually healthy. Pick one of your worst eating

habits and aim to cut it out completely in the next 21 days. See how you

feel without it! It might not be as bad as you thought it would be!

2. Stop talking negatively about your self!

Talking negatively about yourself and others in your life, really doesn't help

you at all. It's far better to become aware of what you are saying and find

ways to say things more positively, or just don't say them at all! It takes

practice, but after a while you will start to notice how much better you are

feeling and so will others!

I D E A S F O R N E W Y E A R ' S R E S O L U T I O N S !

3. Live the Dream!

Don't let those amazing ideas which you are excited or passionate about

drift away because you think it's impossible to achieve or unrealistic! Just

do it step-by-step and be conscious that everyday you need to get into

action to make it happen. By the end of year, you'll be amazed at what you

have achieved!

4. Stop comparing your self to other People!

How often do you find yourself comparing yourself to other people? You can make

up great stories to justify this and that. It is actually just a game we are playing in

your mind to try and make you feel better about a situation you don't like or are

unhappy with. But in the end it can actually make you feel sad or depressed about

yourselves. So stop doing it, it doesn't serve you. Instead remember the great things

about who you are and why you are totally awesome! We are all on a journey

through life, let's learn from every situation, discover what it is teaching us and

evolve into the best version of our Self.

5. Be Yourself and stop trying to fit in!

We all want to be part of a group and accepted by people, we don't want to be odd

one out, the weird one which nobody wants to talk to! But the truth is it's more weird

to be someone who you are not! Being your authentic Self makes your life so much

more enjoyable and less stressful. Stop worrying about what other people think about

you, because your real friends will always accept you, just as you are!

6. Let go of the need to control everything!

There is a natural flow to life, and this is something which we need to trust in more.

The more we trust in this flow, the more we can allow the Universe to work it's

magic with us. It takes patience and trust in the unknown, but with time you will

notice the benefits of letting go of the need to control everything..

Although, in the end, it proved too big a task for one day, the hard work of all the volunteers was really

‘Pups’

written by Christina

Woodbridge

Pups where do they come from?

They come from all over, from places where pups should never be.

They are sad creatures tossed to the breeze, they are thrown away as it

they have never been.

These pore innocent creatures who did not ask to be.

But there is hope, there are angels all around, angles who watch over

these pore creatures who did not ask to be.

They come in all shapes, sizes and colours they love these pore pups

that have been thrown away.

These wonderful angles take the pore pups that never should be, they

make them feel loved and that they should be.

Sadly, we live in a material world and a disposable one at that. The skills people had in the past of making things to last is slowly

disappearing only to be replaced by man-made materials mixed with chemicals that we can't get rid of whatever we do and end up

making our oceans vomit, our air choke and the earth cry.

Gradually, we are waking up and beginning to take steps to slow down if not stop this abuse of nature.

Every little helps, bit by bit we can make a difference.

This has also encouraged the already widening gap of the class division. (The rich get richer and the poor get poorer). Those living

in this rich (resources) world who were already struggling to make ends meet are being pushed further and further down the line

because not enough of us are willing to share.

This project is a step towards addressing a few of the many challenges for those living on or below the

poverty line who face these challenges daily.

All household items that are donated to this cause are freely available for those in need without the means to purchase them.

I will go as far as to set a challenge for you to walk around your property and not find at least one item you

no longer need or want and can donate.

Please if you can donate to this cause you will help it grow and reach more of those in real need.

If you know anyone in a situation who may benefit from this service, please refer them to us, through Facebook if they have a way

to connect or through your kind heart.

Thank you.

Kelli Davis offers old fashioned

healthcare that makes

your life Vibrant again!

As with so many things, I feel that sometimes we’ve thrown the baby out with the bathwater! In our rush to heal

ourselves with pharmaceuticals, we often forgotten so much valuable information about natural medicines and even

how our whole body system functions. The majority of us have just been trained to focus on the end results, missing

out on the process and the root cause of how we got sick or developed a dis-ease.

That’s why I think it’s really important to have good old fashioned healthcare. But what do I mean? Well

remember how your mum would take care of you when you were ill? Of when you went into hospital as a kid

and there always seemed to be a really caring nurse who made you feel at home on the ward? What magic did

they have that made you feel better? Was it just that they had a very good listening ear, or that they took time

to give you care and attention, or that they made eye contact when they were talking to you or that they had

such a lovely big smile, or maybe it was that they had all of these!

Health & Well Being

First Impressions

Kelli Davis is a professional, that is clear from the

moment you walk through her door at her clinic on

the Calle Baldoví, 2 Entresuelo 2A, Valencia.

I’ve personally never trusted doctors

as I think they have been trained to

prescribe us with far too many

pharmaceutical drugs which have

ways too many side effects for my

liking, without looking for ways to heal

the root problem naturally. Don’t get

me wrong though, I think that the

surgeons are amazing and in cases of

emergencies, I think they are

incredible at what they do! But as for

the daily healthcare activities related

to stress, general aches and pains, etc,

I prefer to do my own research and/or

use a holistic healing practitioner who

has been recommended through a

friend or I have heard good things

about. And I’ve heard a lot of great

things about Kelli Davis, a well known

practitioner of holistic healing in

Valencia, owner of Vibrant Life

Integrative Wellness. So I thought I’d

go along and discover more.

Kelli is very welcoming as soon as you meet her and

you immediately feel that she has your full attention,

I mean it’s not like she is being distracted by her

mobile phone, like some other places I have been to.

And to add to the high level of professionalism, I liked

it that I had to fill out a form regarding my current

state of health. This made the experience feel more

personal, as if I was going to be getting a healing

treatment that was focused on specific my well-being,

rather than just having an acupuncture session. The

fact that she was fully dressed in a white outfit on my

first visit, reinforced a strong feeling of

professionalism and cleanliness in my

subconsciousness mind. And with a big smile from

Kelli, I immediately felt at ease.

At the first session there was quite an in depth

Consultation which helped Kelli to assess my state of

wellness. This was then followed by an acupuncture

session which lasted about 30 minutes, where I wore

a headset and listened to tranquil music. Just before

Kelli left the room, she asked me to think of

something that would improve my quality of life and

to concentrate on that throughout the acupuncture

session. I chose to focus on connecting with more

people.

I noticed that as she put the needles into my bod,

tapping them into my meridians, there was a slight

tingling sensation as the energy was unblocked and

started to flow properly again. I was surprised that I

hardly noticed the needles going into my body and

quickly drifted off into a deep sleep.

After the session, Kelli emailed me a nutritional diet

plan which she recommended me to follow for the

next 4 weeks. She said it was important for me to

create a new foundation of solid nutrition which

could support every cell in my body.

This dietary plan would help my body to regulate my

hormones, reduce inflammation, balance the immune

system and release deep-seated stress to restore

optimal function of body and mind. Kelli explained that

this totally natural healing method, stimulates your

body’s own powerful healing ability to do the work for

you. And because of her professional approach, I had

absolute trust and faith in her that it would work.

What happened next?

It was quite extraordinary because over the following

weeks, I became aware that I was meeting more and

more people and making really positive connections that

were helping to improve my quality of life and well being!

It was as if something in my subconscious mind had

changed and things were naturally coming on my path

without me having to do that much work about making

them happen. Also I became about that over a period of

about 4 weeks the pain in my body disappeared

completely! Finally I had a terrible flu, but realised it was

the final part of my body healing itself and getting rid of

all the toxins in it. After a few weeks of releasing all the

negative energy from my body, I really started to feel well

again and noticed that the pain in my legs and feet had

totally gone. Now I feel like I have my life back again and I

am also full of energy. But this is just the start of it Kelli

explained.

At my most recent session, I had some discomfort in

my left hand from pulling by laptop trolly around the

city from business meeting to business meeting for the

last month. I was also feeling discomfort in my thyroid

gland, so she did specific healing treatments on my

hand and acupuncture for my throat, which I

immediately notice an improvement on as soon as she

inserted the needles into my meridians.

What is Kelli Davis' background?

Kelli is a Licensed Master & National Diplomate of

Oriental Medicine (USA), Practitioner of Functional

Diagnostics and is a High-Performance Mentor and

Therapist with specialized experience in Fatigue,

Hormonal Imbalances and Emotional Wellness.

With over 9 years clinical experience, she has helped

hundreds of people discover and resolve the root of

their symptoms with natural therapies. Kelli holds an

active Acupuncture License from the Texas Medical

Board and is a Diplomate of the National

Certification Commission for Acupuncture and

Oriental Medicine. Moreover, she studied under

Chris Axelrad, one of the United States’ premier

experts in Chinese and Functional Medicine for

Hormonal Wellness, and she is a member of the

Practitioner’s Register in Spain and the Pan-

European Federation of TCM Societies. She founded

Vibrant Life Integrative Wellness in June 2017.

How has my life transformed since I have been

having my healing treatment with Kelli Davis?

Well, I am having a lot of different experiences in my

life at the moment and being inspired in many

different ways, but the work that Kelli is doing for me

is very much focused on my mind, body and soul.

And it is continuous, so every time I have a session

with her the process and the results seem to be

more profound.

At my last session I received an inspired idea for how

to improve my advertising offer for customers

immediately after the acupuncture treatment! It was

truly amazing!

Kelli’s work really is holistic because she combines the

physical acupuncture work with the mental meditation

work. It’s very rewarding to then go out and get into

actions, becoming aware that big changes are coming

your way. It makes life more exciting, almost like a

game where you have to be awake to spot the big

differences which start to happen in your life. It really

makes life more fun and conscious again. It really does

make life vibrant once again!

Towards the end of January, we begin to see our

first cases of processionary caterpillar (‘oruga

procesionaria’ in Spanish) poisoning in pets.

Through until about April, we will see the pine

trees full of white candyfloss-like nests in which

these caterpillars shelter and grow, nocturnally

feasting on the trees themselves.

A l e r t !

By María Lluch Barbera

(veterinarian) &

Laila Fletcher

(canine behaviourist)

Once mature enough, clumps of caterpillars

begin to appear on the ground, and then make

their way in long chains nose-to-tail (hence the

name ‘processionary’) towards loose soil, where

they bury themselves to metamorphose and

emerge in the summer as moths.

C O M M U N I T Y N E W S & B U S I N E S S V A L E N C I A

What should I do?

The caterpillar hairs are barbed, so become

stuck in the skin and mucous membranes, and

they are laden with nasty bacteria which can

cause necrosis. Ensure you wear protective

gloves, and wash the affected area with plenty

of warm water (the warmth helps to neutralise

the toxin a little), to quickly get rid of as many

hairs as possible. Acting quickly can save your

pet’s life, though please be careful not to wash

them down your pet’s throat!

It is during their processionary phase that they pose a real danger to

both ourselves and our pets, as their bodies are covered in fine hairs

which are highly toxic! Contact with these hairs causes a severe

allergic reaction, with inflammation, swelling, and painful

itching/burning sensations that can last for weeks. In pets, the areas

most commonly affected are the tongue, lips and mouth, and

sometimes the eyes or more widespread parts of the face. Dogs are

particularly susceptible, as being curious, they may sniff or even lick

them, or pick the hairs up on their feet, which they later lick when

itchiness sets in.

What symptoms should I look out for in my pet?

Inflammation or swelling of any area that may have come into

contact with the caterpillar hairs, particularly facial areas and the

mouth or tongue. In addition, if the mucous membranes of the

mouth have been affected it is common to see excessive drooling

and/or trembling of the jaw or lips.

Once this is done, take your pet urgently to

your local vet clinic, where treatment can be

started to prevent anaphylactic shock and

avoid the secondary bacterial infection

responsible for necrosis. Swelling of the tongue

and throat puts your pet at risk of suffocation,

and if too much of the tongue is lost to necrosis

your pet will be unable to eat or drink.

We recommend you carry water with you

when out walking, as washing the affected

area even with just a little cold water can help

reduce the risks for your pet. More

importantly, try to avoid areas with pine trees,

and be vigilant in windy weather, when the

caterpillars can be picked up by gusts and

blown about. We hope this advice is helpful,

but ultimately the best course of action is to

avoid crossing paths with either the

caterpillars or their nests.

Calling all native

English speakers

who are looking

for a cultural

adventure in

Spain!

Cultuaral

Matters

Written by Celine and John

Are you looking for an excuse to travel to Spain, meet new people, eat delicious food and talk all-day long? If you

answered “YES”, you should apply as a native English speaker volunteer for English Getaway, Diverbo,

Vaughntown or Estacion Ingelsa. These are some of the main companies in Spain that offer English immersion

programs and specifically, companies that we have volunteered for.

We are John and Celine from Canada, currently living la vida loca (crazy life) in

Valencia, Spain. John started volunteering as a native English speaker for Diverbo

back in 2011 during his first visit to Spain. He loved it so much that when I finally

came to Spain with him at the beginning of 2013, we volunteered together. It brought

back memories of summer camp…the intense relationships you have with others and

the feeling you have like you have known each other forever. On top of all that, how

great is it to have a free holiday in Spain? Now you want to know what you have to

do... it’s a pretty simple 3-step process.

More details on our experiences with each company in upcoming posts.

How to get started?

Visit the website of each company to learn about their offering and location options.

What’s involved?

Once you have chosen the company, program and date(s), fill out their application

form and wait……If you need an answer sooner than 5 weeks before travelling, make

sure you mention it in your application form.

What’s next?

Once you receive your acceptance email, do a happy dance and email the company

back with your acceptance of their offer. Book your plane tickets, pre and post

program accommodation and email the company back with your travel details.

Interested in extending your holiday in Spain? Click on the 'Post cards from

Valencia logo' to read more about events and festivals happening around Spain.

“WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING, THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE

CONSPIRES IN HELPING YOU TO ACHIEVE IT ‘’

(The Alchemist)

A boy named Victor age 16, with a body of a grown up

man, but he is mentally an eight years old child.

Energetically big PURE spiritual master!!! A clear mirror

for his surroundings. He reflects the mood and

personal blockades from anyone surround him.

Victoria is fifteen years old with a down syndrome. She

goes to the same special school as Victor and lives 30

minutes by car from his place.

To receive a present full of PURE LOVE straight

from the heart.

One day my husband Simon* and me - Aniya*- drove

Victor from the special school to his home. In the car I

felt Victor’s need to tell us something….

I invited him to explain what was on his mind. The body

language of the boy communicated his nervousness

and anxiety. Victor started to tell that he felt in his

heart he would like to invite a special girl to his parents’

house. She was from the same school and he loved her

so, so much. But he didn’t dare to ask his parents for

something so special.

My thoughts ran fast for the “best” possibilities and I

was wondering why the parents hadn’t discussed this

issues with their son?! (Duality from the mind and the

heart) My heart told me that this was so pure and

natural! My mind reminded me he was 16 years old, a

teenager with a brain of 8 years old boy. All probable

problems started up…..

Victor picked up my energy and asked me: “What can

be the problem that Victoria will visit me, Aniya?”

My heart affirmed there was no problem at all.

LOVE is LOVE, doesn’t matter what. Love is a primal

feeling for everyone.

“Aniya, do you want to help me??”

My mind whispered me to be very careful with some

promises I make to him. I suggested starting a

contact with Victoria over Skype that weekend. The

first reaction of Victor was acceptation. A little later,

he expressed his total self-confidence attitude: “I

WANT TO INVITE VICTORIA. Otherwise I won’t see her

anymore!!”

Wow!!! This was so PURE FROM THE HEART. I felt the

urgency!!!

My husband and me promised Victor to help him……

We arrived at Victor´s home. The boy saw the neighbor on the roof

earlier than us. With a big smile on his face, he made a joke with him.

Happy and naughty he rang the front

doorbell, and run away … also my

husband and me. The mother played the

game along. Inside the house Victor

rushed to his bedroom, because he was so

excited. My husband followed him. This

gave me the opportunity to inform

Victor’s mother what had happened in the

car on the road to his home.

She smiled to me and told me that she has already known about the

wish of her son, but she had lots of mites and BUTS such as: Victor´s

age / his knowledge/his sexuality / how he/she will react / how the

parents of Victoria will respond etc.

Her main reason was protecting her home and family from “strange”

people and keeping them away as far as possible. Her blockade

became very clear. She was aware of this fact and happy that I have

brought it up.

Viktor is the clear mirror for his mother with his question coming out of

his heart.

Victor came downstairs and the four of us had a conversation. The

father of Victor was working and his younger sister at school.

The mother started by speaking out Victor’s wish. His body became full

of attention. The mother asked if he was sure that Victoria really liked

him? He answered: “Yes!!! Mum, I know it from my heart.”

Victor even mentioned her birthday and also her mark from the Maya

seal. (The Maya seal is the energetic birthday energy). This way he

wanted to convince his mother how deep they were connected and

how important this lady was for him. With all his feelings he illustrated

to us his worries he would never see Victoria again!

The mother promised Victor to talk with his father and that she would

make contact with the parents of Victoria. Victor didn’t believe it and

ask few times just to be very sure.

The energy from all this happiness was too much for Victor. He ran

upstairs. I found him on the corner with a plastic rifle. He would take it

when he was very nervous and when he wanted to protect himself.

(Victor felt that the world did not understand him right.)

C O M M U N I T Y N E W S & B U S I N E S S V A L E N C I A | D E C E M B E R

My feeling was to put one hand between his shoulder blades and

one hand on his heart. The “stress” energy brought him out of his

body. I felt his energy and he trusted me. With the Reiki energy

he grounded instantly. Victor became calm and I let him know

how brave was to share his “problem” and how happy I was of

discussing it.

Downstairs I asked his mother why Victor told me many times

that he was afraid of not seeing again Victoria if he did not invite

her. Victor’s mother told us that they were thinking to take him

out of school. That was exactly Victor´s panic. His energetically

system was already feeling this! This was a “little” example from

the many we have experienced with him.

Victor was very grateful and he gave us both a photo from when

he was 3 years old. His mother had only two and was laughing

and willing to keep the other one. And so it happened.

The heart wish became true. Victor and Victoria met each other;

on this day Victor was wearing a red sweater with the text:

SERIOUSLY? His mother was not aware of his choice and it made

her smile.

This real story shows us that if you want something very, very

much and it is coming from your heart and you can stay in your

unified consciousness, the universe will help you with it, even

provide it for you or bring the right people on your way to make it

happen.

So open your eyes and your heart to receive the signs.

We received a present full of PURE LOVE straight from the heart

of Victor!

WE wish everybody HEALTH, PURE LOVE and Happiness in 2019!!!

Be connected in love, light and gratitude,

Aniya Libudzewski & Zhivka
