Local Restaurants Help Veterans With PTSD HOW La Cigale check presentation On November 6th, 2018, La Cigale and Ellie’s 50’s Diner in Delray Beach participated in the 3rd Annual Dine For Veterans event. A portion of sales that day was donated to the Help Our Wounded (HOW) Foundation for their Veteran Investment Program (VIP). HOW Ellies check presentation The Veteran Investment Program provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatment sessions to veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Post- Traumatic Stress . Studies have shown that after receiving a minimum of forty consecutive HBOT sessions, there have been improvements in the quality of life of injured veterans. Some veterans have reported that they are feeling less anxiety, which allows them to complete more daily tasks and sleep better and longer. Most veterans treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy reduced or eliminated their medications. Insurance companies do not cover HBOT treatment sessions for neurological conditions. The Help Our Wounded Foundation is a four-year old, 501c3 organization whose mission is advancing the quality of life for individuals, families and communities by advocating, educating and providing funding for, as well as, indirect access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Lisa Archer, HOW Foundation Development Director, said, “It is restaurants like La Cigale and Ellie’s that helped the Foundation raise over $5000.
