From sports and swimming to arts and teen 

leadership, your child will discover a summer 

of exploration, new friendships and new 

skills. You’ll find camps designed to engage 

all ages from your curious preschooler to your 

independent teen. 

BEFORE & AFTER CAMP TIME 

Have to get to work early or stuck at work and need the 

safety of a great environment? 

Extended time is available for your child at NO 

ADDITIONAL COST from 7-9 am and 4-6 pm (until 6:30 pm 

at the Oscar Lasko YMCA). The Y’s Before and After 

Camp Time provides a range of activities to keep your 

child safe, active and having fun! 

ADD-ON SWIM LESSONS 

Those attending camp at the West Chester Area YMCA (605 

Airport Road) have the opportunity to register for a swim 

lesson during after camp time. Lessons are offered for red 

and yellow band swimmers and are aimed at helping them 

achieve their green swim band. $25/week 

SWIMMING at the West Chester Area YMCA 

Campers enjoy a recreational swim period each day at 

West Chester Area YMCA (except some field trip days), 

weather permitting. Trained Y lifeguards conduct swim 

tests for all campers prior to swimming each Monday. 

Transportation is provided from the Oscar Lasko YMCA. 

KIDS LOVE THE WORLD CARNIVAL! 

Every summer, campers entering grades 3 and up, from all 

YMCA of Greater Brandywine camps, come together for a 

day of fun and friendly competition. Mark your calendars

WILDERNESS ADVENTURE CAMP • Grades Completed: 1-6 



9 am-4 pm (full-day with Wilderness Adventure in PM, 

traditional camp in AM)

Combine nature and art in this fun, enriching camp. Create projects 

around nature and learn the science behind them. Also, learn vital 

survival skills every great adventurer should know! Mornings include 

swimming, games and other camp activities. 






ROBOTICS CAMP • Grades Completed: 1-7 



9 am-4 pm (half-day AM or PM extended to full-day) (grades 5-7) 

Beginner Lego Robotics: Using Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kits, 

campers construct and program basic robotics to move and lift 

objects. Campers are given challenges to solve in a team atmosphere. 

No LEGO robotics experience needed. 

1-4 pm (half-day) (grades 1-4) 

Lego WeDo Robots: Build and program LEGO models with 

working motors and sensors! A mid-day break is taken so campers

AQUATIC CAMPS 

AQUATIC ADVENTURE CAMP 

Grades Completed: 2nd-8th 


Weekly, June 17-August 16 (no camp July 4) 


Need more pool time? Join the Aquatic Adventure Camp 

and get the best of both the pool and camp experience. 

Water races, relays, games, strokes, dives and more 

await campers. Campers need to take a swim test at the 

beginning of the week. They must pass as a green band 

level swimmer. The swim test includes 60 seconds of 

treading water and swimming the full length of the pool (25 

yards). This camp is not for beginner swimmers. Campers 

work on perfecting their splash in the diving well, enjoy 

extra time swimming in all of our pools and refine their 

swimming technique. Campers also participate in a field trip 

each week! Come dressed to get wet! 




INSTRUCTIONAL DIVING CAMP 

Grades Completed: 4th-8th 


Week 7: July 29-August 2 • Week 8: August 5-9 

1-4 pm (half-day) 

Learn basic diving skills that lead to more advanced 

dives off our 1 meter boards. Our experienced staff 

teaches divers in a slightly competitive, yet encouraging 

atmosphere. All campers must be a green band swimmer 

and have the ability to jump from our 1 meter spring board.

Gymnastics/Dance Combo. A fun week of discovery for your 

preschool gymnasts and dancers. Kids enjoy learning the basics 

on our child sized equipment and the beauty of dance, music and 

movement through jazz, ballet and hip hop. 




PROGRESSIVE GYMNASTICS CAMP 

Grades Completed: K-6th 





9 am-12 pm (half-day) & 1-4 pm (half-day) 

For gymnasts levels 1 and up! Campers receive instruction on 

vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. Emphasis is also 

placed on stretching, flexibility, strength conditioning and dance.

Girls love this sassy jazz dance camp, where jazz technique 

and a few sassy jazz dances are learned. Campers also enjoy

for parents.

Girls just want to have fun! Build new friendships, learn a little 

etiquette and dive into the worlds of journaling, jewelry-making, 

modeling, crafts, party planning, makeovers and fashion. 




PRINCESS DANCE CAMP • Ages 3-5 




Be a ballerina princess for a few days! Campers learn basic 

ballet steps and dance to all their favorites from “Frozen”, 

“The Little Mermaid”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Beauty and The 

Beast” and more! Campers decorate wands and crowns and 

have fun creating their own “princess” costumes. Camps 

ends with a tea party and performance.

TEEN CAMP 

LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (LIT) 

Grades Completed 8th-10th 






A weekly camp for teens who are interested in building 

the skills needed to be a camp counselor. LITs participate 

in leadership training workshops and spend time each 

day working with younger camper groups. Our program is 

designed specifically for teens interested in working with 

children and taking on responsibility in the camp program. 

Teens wishing to participate in the LIT Program will need 

to answer a questionnaire of what they hope to learn from 

the program.

email invitation received after registration 

has been completed. 

REGISTRATION POLICIES 

• A YMCA membership is not required to 

register for camp. However, those who 

maintain a YMCA membership at the time 

of registration through the end of a camp 

session receive member rates. If the YMCA 

membership is not maintained during this 

period, the fee will be adjusted to the 

non-member rate. No changes to fees will 

be made if a YMCA membership has been 

started after the camp registration has 

been processed. 

• Registration for each camp week must 

be submitted by 10 pm the previous 

Wednesday. Late registration will ONLY be 

accepted the previous Thursday or Friday 

with a late fee of $50 applied. Any camp 

registration change made after the initial 

registration will result in a $25 change fee. 

• A camp deposit of $35 per child per week 

is due at the time of registration. Deposits 

are non-refundable and non-transferable 

and are subtracted from your weekly rate. 

The remaining balance will be processed 

two Sundays prior to the camp start date. 

Payments must be made through weekly 

automated draft or in-full at time of 

registration. Camp payments are not able 

to be split between two or more payers. 

• Any camp cancellations less than one week 

prior to the camp start date will result in 

a $50 cancellation fee. 

• No refunds are available after the start 

of a camp week. 

• Families who receive CCW funding are 

required to pay a $10 per camper per week 

fee in addition to their weekly copay. 

• Families with two or more children signing 

up for the same camp week receive 10% 

off the lowest weekly fee (restrictions 

apply). Discount can only be applied 

during onsite registration. Discount is 

not able to be combined with financial 

assistance and/or staff discounts.

Camp Winnipeg and 6:30 pm 

at Camp Chestnut. If you are 

going to be late picking up 

your child, please arrange to

who are repeatedly picked up 

late from extended care may 

lose access to the program 

and parents will be required to 

pick up their child(ren) at the 

end of the regular camp day.
