A exemplifies the 42 year career of Connie Mitchell, MA, RT (R)(CT), FASRT.<br />
In 1971Connie graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Radiography in Council Bluffs,<br />
Iowa. Beginning her career at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) upon<br />
graduation, and has been employed there for 42 years. She currently serves as Assistant<br />
Professor and Radiography Program Director.<br />
Ms Mitchell received her certification from the American Registry of Radiologic<br />
Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography in 1971 and Computed Tomography in 1996. She<br />
continues her registrations in both certifications. She received her BS degree in 1995 at<br />
Bellevue College, Omaha, Nebraska and her Master’s Degree in 2001 at the University of<br />
Nebraska of Omaha.<br />
Connie’s involvement with professional organisations began at the state affiliation<br />
level, where she served on the board of directors of the Nebraska Society of Radiologic<br />
Technologists. She first became involved in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists<br />
as a delegate, and in 2004 was elected as secretary-treasurer on the ASRT Board of Directors.<br />
Connie went on to serve the ASRT Board from 2004-2009, including terms as president and<br />
chairman.<br />
As recognition of her service to the association, the ASRT elevated Connie to Fellow status<br />
in 2010.<br />
