STUDENTS SPEAK

SOMEWHERE THEY CAN FEEL AT HOME

A Thankful Alumnus | Benjamin Lutz, Class of 2017

From Atlanta, Georgia | Majors: International & Global Studies and Political Science

Being a southern Jew, it’s hard to find a community, especially during

undergrad. Chabad gave me that community during my senior year

through laughs, shared meals, and a deep understanding of how Judaism

interacts in modern society. I am forever grateful to Chabad at Elon for

ending my last year of my bachelors on such a positive note.

A PLACE TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS

A Grateful Student | Sara Spicker, Class of 2020

From Los Angeles, California | Major: Biochemistry

My first year at Elon

already feels like a lifetime

ago, but I remember

getting really involved

with Chabad the

start of my 2017 Spring

semester. My transition

to college was huge and

scary, but I remember feeling so comfortable

and welcomed at each Chabad event; it wasn’t

long until I knew I wanted to get more involved

with Chabad. I am so glad I made that decision

my first year because not only have I had the

opportunity to participate in up-and-coming

programs, like Sinai Scholars, and celebrate the

Jewish Holidays but also form amazing relationships

with Rabbi Mendy, Rivka, and other Jewish

students. Over the past year now, I am happy

to share that I have met a lot of other Jewish students

that have become like family. I am super

grateful for my experiences through Chabad

and the awesome people I’ve met.
