Kirkwood Intermediate is a very well
resourced school where all of our

We are an inclusive school with mixed
ability classes, programmes to extend
and enrich all of our children and lots
of opportunities in sport, cultural and

Because we are a state, co-educational
intermediate school, everything we do,
everything we have, and all of our plans
for the future are designed for children
aged 10 -13 years old – our Year 7 and
8 students often called the ‘emerging
adolescent’. These wonderful children
are going through a real growth spurt:

Welcome to new students for the 2019 school year.
Our staff are looking forward to meeting you and
we anticipate yet another ‘Brilliant’ year at Breens
Intermediate School.
Welcome back to our Year 8 students. Hopefully you
have all had a good holiday and are excited about your
learning for this year.
2019 school year commences:
Year 8 students – Thursday 31st January at 8.50am
All students – Friday 1st February at 8.50am
On Friday 1st February – Year 7 & the new Year 8 students
are to assemble at the front of the school. We will have staff
& students there to show you where to go.
At 9am there will be a Mihi Whakatau to welcome new
students to Breens. Parents & Whanau are invited to join us
for the welcome to our Breens school community.
The Breens school office will re-open on
Tuesday 29th January, 2019.
Our school year starts with ‘meet the
teacher’ for all students.
Book a 15 minute meeting online, on
either Tuesday 29 January or Wednesday
30 January.
Details are in the Orientation Pack mailed
to you mid January.
LATE ENROLMENTS
We choose to have a no enrolment zone
and currently have a limited number of
places available at both Year 7 and 8 for
2019.
The school office will open from Monday
