Art Demonstration
The London Visual Arts Guild is kicking
off 2019 with a free demonstration by Jennifer
Tritle on “Mixed Media” at 6 p.m. Jan.
22 at Studio 7, 7 E. High St., London. Tritle’s
work has been featured in several
scrapbooking magazines, including Art
Journaling, Somerset Studio, Somerset Apprentice
and Bella Grace. She will be giving
classes in upcoming months. After the
demonstration, the Arts Guild will hold its
monthly meeting, headed by new president,
Bob Rea, at 7:30.

• Rock-o-Rama. This Family S.T.E.A.M.
Night is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 23. Discover
what makes the Earth's rocks and minerals
unique. Use a microscope, run experiments,
then go home with your own rock collection.

6:30 to 7:15, children ages 3 - 6 can practice
the alphabet by working on letter sounds,
writing letters and gross motor skills.

Relay For Life Fundraisers
All proceeds from the following events go
to the American Cancer Society.
• Progressive Euchre Parties. Euchre
parties are set for 7 p.m. Jan. 26, Feb. 23
and March 30 in the parlor at First Presbtyerian
Church, 211 Garfield Ave., London.
Beginners are welcome. Admission is any
donation. Bring a snack to share.
• Music Men of London. The barbershop
quartet will perform at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at
the Red Brick Tavern’s rib night. A tip jar
will be placed near the cash register.
• Watch Party. A Watch Party is planned
for 7:30 p.m. Feb 24 at First Presbtyerian
Church, 211 Garfield Ave., London. The
main attraction is a certain Hollywood
movies awards show that involves a red carpet
and a familiar metallic trophy coveted by
actors and directors in the entertainment
business. Drinks and nibbles provided. For

Retired Teachers
The Madison County Retired Teachers
Association will meet Feb. 11 at Ben & Joy’s
Restaurant, 35 S. London St., Mount Sterling.
Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
followed by the meeting from 12:30 to 1:30
p.m. Madison County Commissioner David

Soil and Water Conservation
The Madison Soil and Water Conservation
District’s monthly board meetings are
held at 8 a.m. the second Wednesday of each
month in the conference room at 831 U.S.
Rte. 42 NE, London. The public is welcome
to attend. The next meeting is Feb. 13.
Township Trustees
• Fairfield Township. The trustees’ first
meeting of the year is Jan. 21. Thereafter,
meetings will take place the first and third
Mondays of each month at the Fairfield
Township Hall, 9100 Big Plain-Circleville
Road. Start time is 8 p.m.
• Range Township. The trustees will
meet at 8 p.m. Jan. 23 in the Sedalia firehouse.
Only one meeting his scheduled next
month—8 p.m. Feb. 18. The meetings will resume
the regular schedule in March—8 p.m.
