Jan. 26 — Faine House 5K<br />

Downtown Orlando’s Lake Eola Park hosts the Faine House<br />

5K, a run/walk, plus a 1-mile stroll. Participants receive<br />

medals and T-shirts while supplies last, and prizes are<br />

awarded to the top male and female runners in each age<br />

group. A post-event party — that includes two drink tickets<br />

— takes place at Lake Eola Park’s International Plaza.<br />

Time: 8 a.m. Cost: $35; $40 on race day, with proceeds<br />

benefiting The Faine House, a facility for young adults exiting<br />

foster care and those on the verge of homelessness. For<br />

Feb. 2 — Celebrity Tea & Silent Auction<br />

Country Club of Orlando, 1601 County Club Drive,<br />

Orlando, hosts Eti-Keys Training Group’s Lavender and<br />

Lace Celebrity Tea and Signature Silent Auction, including<br />

former Florida Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings, the Orlando Ballet,<br />

harpist Verlon Eason, food and annual community awards.<br />

Time: noon for auction preview; 1 p.m. for tea. Cost: $125<br />

for VIP tickets; $100, adults; and $50, children, with proceeds<br />

benefiting Eti-Keys, which provides free programs<br />

that empower youth to reach their full potential through<br />

Feb. 7 — Walk A Mile In Her Shoes<br />

The seventh annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, an event<br />

that raises awareness of domestic abuse, kicks off at<br />

Feb. 21 — A Runway For Giving<br />

Fashion Show<br />

Lowes Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando hosts A<br />

Runway for Giving Fashion Show, presented by Eric and Diane<br />

Holm, owners of Golden Corral, and including a silent auction,<br />

fashion show and luncheon. Time: 10 a.m. Cost: $250,<br />

with proceeds benefiting Morning Star Catholic School for<br />

March 30 — Princess Ball<br />

Hyatt Regency Orlando, 9801 International Drive, Orlando,<br />

hosts A. Jones Family Foundation’s seventh annual Princess<br />

Ball, an evening that highlights the positive relationship<br />

between fathers and daughters while giving back to local<br />

charities. This year’s theme is “Wonder Woman,” so attendees<br />

will meet female firefighters and police women, as<br />

well as experience entertainment like martial arts demonstrations.<br />

Dads and daughters meet many princesses from<br />

favorite fairy tale classics, as well. Other festivities include<br />

food, music, dancing, ballet performances, appearances<br />

by Orlando Magic cheerleaders and local pageant winners,<br />

royal carriage rides, face painting, caricature drawings,<br />

Room of the Orange County Courthouse, 425 N. Orange<br />

Ave., Orlando. The program is open to all residents, however,<br />

seats are limited, so save a spot by registering. Time:<br />
