SNAP’s maintaining structure in a free environment
Each summer kids run
wild and free, but can
have trouble adjusting
back to a classroom environment
when school
rolls around each fall.
Additionally, without
school, kids no longer
have art classes incorporated
into their daily
schedule and the lack of a
creative outlet can pose a
real problem to maintaining
well-rounded development.
Lastly, a physical
release is integral to
keeping kids healthy in
mind and body. Summer
camps are great at
creating structure over
the summer, but often
fall short in developing
classroom discipline and
providing both a physical
and creative outlet.
One type of camp, however,
holds up in all three
categories - dance camp!
This summer, give your
kids the gift of dance by
registering for one of
Studio North Academy of
the Performing Arts’ various
summer programs,
carefully crafted to help
your child succeed. For
your littlest ones, there’s
Flowers, Fairies, and
Princesses, where teachers
combine arts and
dance. Students ages 3 to
6 will get to explore Ballet,
Tap and Jazz as well
as execute daily art projects.
This camp is offered
the week of August 12th,
and you can choose a
morning or afternoon session.
On Your Toes Camp
is a performance-oriented
program intended for students
from 7 to 13. In the
mornings, students will
take Ballet, Jazz, Modern,
or Lyrical with a rotating
set of instructors, allowing
them to experience
a variety of dance and
teaching styles. These
back-to-back classes
will help students work
their ability to focus, a
skill vital to a successful
academic year. In the
afternoon, dancers will
work on various pieces,
culminating in a performance
every Friday!
In addition to working
in the beautiful studios,
dancers will be given 90
minutes between classes
and rehearsal to soak in
the great outdoors; eating
lunch, playing, and
often rehearsing their
“Kids’ Dance” - the ultimate
creative outlet. You
can register for On Your
Toes Camp by the week
or session (8 weeks)!
Lastly, for the advanced
dancer, ages 13 and up,
SNAP offers week-long
Intensives that will train
your child both artistically
and physically.
They will study various
styles of concert dance,
each providing their own
unique scope of valuable
skills. Summer is a great
time to relax, but is also
a great opportunity to
further your child’s artistic
and physical potential
keep them sharp for the
coming year. This summer,
keep your child’s
development on track
with SNAP’s Summer
Programs!
