— OUR STORY
Allan J. Scott founded Scotwood in 1964 and
within four years he expanded the company
from primarily a fancy goods business to become
Scotwood Interiors, developing into joinery,
office partitions and fit outs. The company now
specialises in total refurbishment contracts within
commercial and industrial premises.
Scotwood has experienced continued growth.
Allan retired as Chairman at the end of 2000
and his son Jim Scott, and employee Douglas
Kerr, took control of the company. Both have
contributed significantly to its control and
direction, carrying on the legacy of business
innovation and adaptation.
With a staff turnover of under 2%, Scotwood truly
is the definition of a successful, happy, familybased
business. The company remains fresh and
innovative. Today, Scotwood has become one of
Scotland’s leading contractors in office fit outs and
refurbishments, with work throughout the UK.

Directors Douglas Kerr and Jim Scott
We are proud to lead Scotwood Interiors. Our
team of 40 staff, the majority of whom are trained
in-house to excellent quality standards, move
with the times to produce innovative designs
and fit outs for a diverse client base. Scotwood
has become a national leader in turnkey project
interior design, fit outs and office refurbishments,
throughout Scotland, particularly in Edinburgh,
Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

anniversary year, with
nearly £4million of new
projects
Our personal service has led to repeat
commissions and strong, long-standing business
relationships so that many clients have become
as much a part of the Scotwood family as our
excellent staff.

Works have included the fit out of the new
prestigious Western Club in Royal Exchange
Square, and an office fit out themed on
Glasgow’s green places for American software
company BlackBaud. Also, Edinburgh-based
Skyscanner asked us to re-vamp its contemporary
offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, while
we helped Harper MacLeod with a complete
re-design of their offices as they geared up to
be one of the sponsors of the Glasgow 2014
Commonwealth Games.

As principal contractor with a client list of many
blue chip customers, Scotwood is proud of its high

We do not finish a job until the client is entirely
satisfied. We pride ourselves on a quality, personal
service, with excellent results and innovative new
designs, layouts and fit outs.
Our highly skilled and multi-trade workforce
enjoys close working relationships with carefully
selected sub-contractors, and sometimes other
specialist services as nominated by the client.
We provide repeat business for a select number of
specialist contractors that we use on a continuing
basis and they must comply with our stringent
Health & Safety requirements.
