National Pet Day was celebrated in New Zealand on <strong>February</strong><br />
20th. This day was the day to celebrate your furry family<br />
member. As we care for the wellbeing of our pets, the SPCA<br />
offers reminders of<br />
What to do when you lost your pet?<br />
Losing your pet can be a very distressing time for owners.<br />
Thousands of animals become lost or go missing from their<br />
home every year.<br />
What to do if you find an animal?<br />
If you find a sick or injured animal, please contact your local<br />
SPCA Centre immediately so that they can advise you of the best<br />
steps to take.<br />
What to do when you need to<br />
rehome your pet?<br />
Sometimes people find themselves in the unfortunate position<br />
of being unable to keep their pet. We realise that making the<br />
decision to rehome your pet is an extremely tough one and it<br />
may be for reasons out of your control.<br />
What to do when you find an injured<br />
bird or fledgling?<br />
During this time, they receive hundreds of calls from the public<br />
who are concerned about a baby bird they have found out of its<br />
nest and they have a large influx of baby birds being brought into<br />
their centres.<br />
What to do when you have concerns<br />
about an animal?<br />
If you have concerns about an animal being neglected or treated<br />
with cruelty, contact them immediately.<br />
Looking to adopt a pet? Call your local SPCA and stop by<br />
their shelter to look for your new family member.<br />
