Chairman of the Board Ercan Varlıbaş stated that the
Turkish economy is oriented towards the production
constructions that can compete with the world and
added that high added value exports are vital for
developing the economy. Varlıbaş who has explained
that Turkey’s export average price per kilogram of a
little over $ 1.28, continued his words as follows; “The
average kilogram price of exports in developed countries
is over 5 dollars. However, as the country we have a
product today; kilogram of it is being exported to 675
thousand dollars. This product is a product developed
and produced by VSY Biotechnology” he said.
Varlıbaş who has said that Turkey is # 47 in the field
of biotechnology in the world, and also told that
Singapore’s success story tells a lot to Turkey.
Varlıbaş told as follows; “Singapore 15 years ago said
‘We must move forward’ he said, and currently they
are in the 2nd in the world in the field of biotechnology.
We’re at the rank of 47. We can make nice things from
now on. If you do 20% standard R & D studies in any
country, any industry, the industry’s development will
increase 62% within 5 years. So if we work a little,
we’re going to close this gap. As the information density
increases, the costs are falling, the added value is
increasing” he said.
“In the next 10 years we will come to the place we
deserve in biotechnology”
He said that as BİYOSAD they are aiming to establish a
high-tech organized industrial zone in Tuzla, İstanbul
and stated that they aim to have 160 factories from
the sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture and
livestock.
Varlıbaş gave the following information as well; “In
the 3 million square meters production area we plan
to build in Tuzla, import substitution will be made. In
the first five years after the establishment, 1 billion
dollar import substitution, is foreseen at the moment.
There will be twenty thousand employees. 2 thousand
of them will be at the undergraduate level. We are also
planning to increase the trained human resources. This
will be on top of the model in Singapore. The investment
amount will be 10 billion TL, may be higher. In five
years, our exports will be 1.2 billion dollars. It will be a

dünyayla rekabet edebilecek üretim kurgularına
yöneldiğini ifade ederek, ekonomiyi kalkındırmak için
katma değeri yüksek ihracatın hayati önemde olduğunu
söyledi.
Türkiye’nin ihracat kilogram fiyat ortalamasının 1,28
doların biraz üzerinde olduğunu anlatan Varlıbaş,
“Gelişmiş ülkelerde ihracat ortalama kilogram fiyatı
5 doların üzerinde. Ancak ülke olarak bizim şöyle bir
ürünümüz de var bugün; kilogramı 675 bin dolara ihraç
ediliyor. Bu ürün VSY Biotechnology’nin tasarladığı,
geliştirdiği ve ürettiği bir ürün.” dedi.
Türkiye’nin biyoteknoloji alanında dünyada 47. sırada
olduğunu aktaran Varlıbaş, Singapur’un başarı
hikâyesinin Türkiye’ye çok şey anlattığını söyledi.
Varlıbaş, şöyle konuştu: “Singapur 15 sene önce ‘Biz
ilerlemeliyiz’ dedi ve şu anda biyoteknoloji alanında
dünyada 2. sırada. Biz 47. sıradayız. Biz bundan güzel
şeyler çıkartabiliriz.Herhangi bir ülke, herhangi bir
endüstride yüzde 20 standart Ar-Ge yaparsanız o
sektörün, endüstrinin gelişimi 5 sene içinde yüzde 62
artar. Yani biz biraz çalışırsak bu açığı kapatırız. Bilgi
yoğunluğu arttıkça maliyetler düşüyor, katma değer
artıyor.”
”Önümüzdeki 10 sene içinde biyoteknoloji konusunda
hak ettiğimiz yere geleceğiz”
BİYOSAD olarak İstanbul Tuzla’da yüksek teknolojili bir
organize sanayi bölgesi oluşturulmasını hedeflediklerini
belirten Varlıbaş, burada ilaç, tarım ve hayvancılık gibi
sektörlerde 160 fabrikanın bulunmasını hedeflediklerini
kaydetti.
Varlıbaş şu bilgileri verdi: “Tuzla’da kurmayı
planladığımız 3 milyon metrekarelik üretim alanında
ithal ikamesi yapılacak. Kurulduktan sonra ilk 5 sene
içinde 1 milyar dolarlık ithal ikamesi düşünülüyor. Yirmi
bin çalışan olacak. Bunun 2 bini lisans düzeyinde eğitimli
olacak. Eğitimli insan kaynağını da böylelikle artırmayı
planlıyoruz. Bu Singapur’daki modelin üstünde olacak
versiyonu. Yatırım miktarı 10 milyar TL olacak, daha üstü
de olabilir. Beş yılda ihracatımız 1,2 milyar dolar olacak.
Orası yabancıların da içinde olduğu bir yapı olacak,
Singapur’da olduğu gibi. Önümüzdeki 10 sene içinde
biyoteknoloji konusunda hak ettiğimiz yere geleceğiz ve
sonraki 5 senede de daha ileri noktalara gideceğiz.”
”İlacı bir sanayi politika aracı olarak görmemiz gerekli”
Türkiye İlaç ve Tıbbi Cihaz Kurumu (TİTCK) Başkanı Dr.
