Conference Registration Cancellation Policy<br />
If you wish to cancel your Conference ticket, your cancellation must<br />
be sent in writing to <strong>IFEAT</strong> via email to conference@ifeat.org<br />
A 50% refund will be issued upon receiving your cancellation<br />
request ONLY if it is received no later than 60 days prior to the<br />
conference date taking place (Tuesday 30th July <strong>2019</strong>).<br />
Cancellation instructions which are received after this time will not<br />
be refunded, no matter what the circumstance including inability to<br />
obtain a visa. It is recommended that the individual participant<br />
takes out insurance to cover the risk of not being able to<br />
participate because of sickness or for any other reason<br />
whatsoever.<br />
Please ensure that you read the visa information available on the<br />
‘General Information’ download on the <strong>IFEAT</strong> website.<br />
If you have paid for your ticket and do not attend the Conference, your ticket will not be refunded.<br />
Payment must be received in full prior to the Conference.<br />
Access will not be permitted if full payment has not been received.<br />
The organisers may, at any time, with or without giving notification, in their absolute discretion and without<br />
giving reason, cancel or postpone the Conference, change its venue location or any of the other published<br />
particulars, or withdraw any invitation to attend. In any case, neither the organisers (<strong>IFEAT</strong>) nor <strong>IFEAT</strong> Committee<br />
Members or representatives shall be liable for any loss, liability, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any<br />
person attending the <strong>IFEAT</strong> Conference.<br />
If <strong>IFEAT</strong> cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.<br />
Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, <strong>IFEAT</strong> has the right to either issue a full<br />

Delegate Code of Conduct<br />
Delegates must agree not to undertake activities that could reflect badly on <strong>IFEAT</strong> e.g. non-payment of individual<br />

When making a delegate registration booking for the Conference, delegates must agree to the following photo,<br />

<strong>IFEAT</strong> will engage an official photographer and videographer for the duration of the Conference. We would like to<br />
ensure that you and <strong>IFEAT</strong> have the necessary rights and protections with regard to copyright. <strong>IFEAT</strong> will hold the<br />
copyright of its photography, audio and video recordings and would like to have the option to continue to use<br />
these materials and to create an archive copy. This may include, but is not limited to, use on the <strong>IFEAT</strong> website,<br />

The Conference venue hotel, the Mulia Resort, and the satellite hotels<br />
selected by <strong>IFEAT</strong> are in Nusa Dua, located in Southern Bali.<br />
Visas for Bali<br />
Citizens of more than 140 countries (see list below) can enter Bali without requiring a Visa. Just<br />
make sure your passport is valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of your departure<br />
from Indonesia.<br />
On arrival, you will receive a free visa stamp which is valid for a stay of a maximum of 30 days with<br />
NO extension possible. Note: this is for a tourist/social visit only, do not state ‘business’ as the<br />
purpose of your visit.<br />

Airport Information<br />
Bali airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport) is your main entry point to the island. The airport<br />
is in Tuban, an approximate 30 minute drive from Nusa Dua. Its runway stretches along Bali's<br />
isthmus that connects the Bukit Peninsula with Bali's mainland. It's on the island’s south where<br />
most of the main resort areas are. Bali airport's code is 'DPS' for Denpasar, the provincial capital<br />
of Bali which is 13km northeast of the airport. Ngurah Rai is the world's smallest international<br />
airport, covering only 285 hectares. The airport underwent a major expansion in 2013 and it<br />
now includes a domestic terminal from where most travellers venture to eastern Indonesia.<br />
After your plane lands at Bali airport you will head inside the arrivals terminal which houses<br />
the immigration area, where you queue and present your passport and visa. There are two<br />
immigration sections, one for Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) and the other for non VoA. Note: please<br />
refer to 'Visas for Bali' section to the left. The process should not take longer than 15 minutes<br />
however, some delays may occur if multiple flights arrive at the same time. Once through<br />
immigration, proceed to baggage claims and have your baggage claim tag ready. Trolleys<br />
around the baggage claim area are available, as well as porter services.<br />
Airport Transfers and Taxis Information<br />
Taxis are available at the airport. Alternatively, please see below for information on airport<br />
services offered by <strong>IFEAT</strong>'s approved contractor in Bali, Melali Bali DMC.<br />
Melali Airport Meet & Greet<br />
USD $30 per person<br />
Staff will meet you at the arrival gate, escort you through customs to a waiting lounge (with<br />
air-conditioning, cold towels and bottled water) whilst they retrieve your luggage for you.<br />
Melali Airport Transfer<br />
USD $40 per person<br />
Staff will meet you at arrivals and transport you to the Mulia Resort.<br />
Please note the meet & greet service does not include the transfer service and vice versa, i.e.<br />
it will be USD $70 per person for both of the services.<br />
For either option, the Melali staff will have your name on a card as you arrive.<br />
These services can only be booked online via the <strong>IFEAT</strong> website.<br />
• Each hotel can offer its own airport transfer service and you will need to book this directly<br />
with your chosen hotel<br />
• Taxis taken from outside the airport will be less expensive<br />
• If a taxi is taken from outside the airport then you will need to pay the taxi driver in local<br />
currency which is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). According to online research, a single<br />
journey from the airport will cost IDR 150,000 or approximately USD $10

Local Currency<br />
The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Notes<br />
come in high denominations as the amount of IDR that you will<br />
receive for your USD/GBP/Euro will be very high!<br />
Exchange Rates (as the time of printing)<br />
1 USD = 14,295 IDR<br />
1 GBP = 18,317 IDR<br />
1 Euro = 16,308 IDR<br />
IDR Note Denominations<br />
2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, and 100,000.<br />
Note: you will be able to exchange USD, GBP, Euro, etc for IDR<br />
in Bali but you will not be able to use any currency other than<br />
IDR to pay for any services.<br />
The moment you land, you’ll find several money exchanges at<br />
the International Arrivals of the Ngurah Rai International Airport,<br />
which offer fairly competitive rates and are conveniently open<br />
around the clock, however you may find better rates outside<br />
the airport. Thus, it’s good to change just a fair amount for your<br />
taxi fare or spare change on the trip to your hotel. IDR 500,000<br />
or USD $40 should be more than enough. Then, you can either<br />
change your money at your hotel (usually at not very<br />
competitive rates), or head out to any of the authorised and<br />
recommended money changers in Bali, some of which have<br />
branches spread out throughout Bali’s popular resort areas.<br />

Weather in Bali<br />
The start of the Conference in September is the tail-end of the<br />
dry-season. This offers sunny days and an average temperature<br />
of 31 degrees Celsius. October officially marks the start of the<br />
wet season so there is likely to be higher humidity levels with<br />
the occasional downpour!<br />
Dress code<br />
With high temperatures and humidy levels in mind, the<br />
Conference will have a more relaxed dress code. Business suits<br />
are not compulsory, we recommend more resort-like attire!<br />
Nusa Dua, Bali and Beyond<br />
Although Nusa Dua is Bali’s most developed resort area, you<br />
can still find cultural attractions here. These range from<br />
temples, a museum housing arts and artefacts from Indonesia<br />
and the Pacific, and unique natural landmarks around its scenic<br />
peninsula.<br />
Beyond Nusa Dua, there are many opportunities to see what<br />
not only the rest of the island, but also other nearby island<br />
locations, have to offer through a fantastic choice of tours<br />
available through <strong>IFEAT</strong>’s appointed contractor, Melali Bali DMC.<br />

Vaccinations<br />
Bali is much more developed than most regions in Indonesia<br />
and the main tourism areas match international standards when<br />
it comes to hygiene. If you plan to travel to other areas in<br />
Indonesia or venture out for a longer period into the more<br />
remote areas of Bali, then a more careful approach is<br />
recommended. Because vaccines need to be taken before<br />
arriving at your destination you need to plan your vaccine<br />
strategy 4-8 weeks before scheduled departure.<br />

Other Useful Information<br />
Electricity: 220 Volts, 50Hz. Electrical plugs are two-pronged<br />
‘Europlug’ type.<br />
Water: Tap water is not drinkable; ice in drinks at established<br />
bars, hotels and reputable restaurants is usually safe.<br />
Emergencies: In case of emergencies, dial 110 for police and<br />
118 for ambulance.<br />
Tipping: Tipping in Bali is considered to be a foreign concept.<br />
Although it isn’t mandatory to tip for every service you avail,<br />
the tips are nevertheless appreciated. On the other hand it is<br />
important you understand that workers in the service industry<br />
are paid extremely low wages, with the bulk of the earnings<br />
going into the owner’s pocket. You might just make someone’s<br />
day by tipping him/her for the services offered when you’re<br />
visiting Bali.<br />
As a guide, within hotels, a tip of USD $2 - $4 (IDR 30,000 –<br />
60,000) would be appropriate. In restaurants, between 2-5%<br />
of the total bill is appropriate.<br />
