In Memoriam
James Pelc
James A. Pelc, 97,
of Lockport, died on
March 7. Pelc retired from the
Teamsters Union where he was
a truck driver. He was a very
proud WWII Europen Theatre
Army Veteran. He was the
proud owner and operator of a
service station in Lockport in
the early 1960s. Jim and Alie
lived 20 wonderful years retired
in Deltoa, Florida.
He is survived by his children
James T., John (Nancy), David
(Julie), Robert (Amanda) and
Mariane Pelc; cherished grandchildren
Jennifer, Melissa, Michael
and Christine; three great
grandchildren; his niece, Nina
(Larry) Tapella; brother-in-law,
Arthur DeLorenzo; four stepgrandchildren;
and his friend and
companion, Mary Scalzo
Services were held at O’Neil
Funeral Home. Per James’s
wishes, cremation rights were
respectfully addressed.
Melvin Bost
Melvin K. Bost,
101, late of Lockport,
died on March 9. Bost is
survived by his two daughters,
Susan Dufault (Joe Reposh) and
Barbara (Leroy) Steffes; three
sons, Patrick (Janice), James
and Andrew (Barbara) Bost; 10
grandchildren, Paul Dufault,
Jennifer Gleason, Sheri (Ronald)
Menelli, Holly (Daniel)
Pierson, Michael (Tara) Steffes,
Christopher Tendall, Jason
(Nikki) Bost, Brian (Partner
Trent Joseph) Bost, Kevin
(Karena) Bost and Michael
Bost; 16 great-grandchildren;
brother-in-law, James Constantine;
and numerous nieces
and nephews. Bost entered the
Civilian Conservation Corps
at the end of high school and
worked on projects throughout
Illinois. He moved to Chicago
after his time in the CCC where
he worked in the insurance business.
He was very proud of his
service (as a records secretary)
in the Army in WWII in the Pacific.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
to Honor Flight Chicago, St.
Dennis Music Ministry or Joliet
Area Hospice would be appreciated.
