The next couple of months leading up

to the start of Crop Over Festival in mid-

June offer plenty of events and here we’d

like to highlight some of them for you,

along with some other worthwhile options

we think you’d like to know about:


Sol Rally Barbados


The 30th edition of

the Barbados Rally

Club’s premier event

will run from Fri.,

May 31 to Sun., June 2. The

lead-ups to the main event,

The Rally Show and Flow King

of the Hill will be held the

previous weekend, May 25 and

26 respectively.

The Flow King of the Hill

event, which will be held at

Stewarts Hill, St Philip this

year, is nicknamed “the shakedown,”

as it plays a key role in

seeding the running order for

the Sol Rally.

Sol Rally Barbados has evolved

from small beginnings as the

all-stage rally in 1990 into the

Caribbean’s biggest annual

motor sport International and

a major sports tourism event,

attracting some of the world’s

top drivers and the fans in

their thousands.

Sol Rally Barbados and Flow

King of the Hill are organised

by the Barbados Rally Club,

which celebrated its 60th

Anniversary in 2017, and Sol

RB19 marks the 12th year of

title sponsorship by the Sol

Group and the fourth by Csble

& Wireless Communications.•

Buju Banton

On Saturday, April 27,

2019, Fas7star Promotions

will host the eagerly anticipated

Buju Banton ‘Long

Walk to Freedom Tour’ in

Barbados at Kensington


Supporting acts include

Jamaica’s Wayne Wonder

and Spragga Benz, and Barbados

Buggy Nhakente.

Tickets prices: $125 to

$400. Doors open from

7pm. Showtime: 10pm.

The concert will replace

annual Reggae on the Hill,

which was originally scheduled

for the next day at

Farley Hill National Park.

However, the two other

signature events of the annual

Barbados Reggae Festival

will be staged as usual

- the Reggae Beach Party

at Pirate’s Cove on Sunday,

April 28, and the Vintage

Reggae Show and Dance at

the Oval on Tuesday, April

30, the night before the

May Day holiday.

The beach party features

Sizzla Kalonji and Busy

Signal with top local artistes

and DJs. Ticket price: $70.

Doors open from 4pm.

Headliners for the vintage

reggae event include Barrington

Levy, Cutty Ranks,

Splash Band and Lil Rick.

the staging of the Festival,

which attracts large numbers

average 25,000 for the four
