Pods explains how he’s making the
most of his room outdoors
Tunbridge Wells based company Urban Grow Pods have
launched a range of contemporary eco friendly garden office/
studios as an answer to the growing need for more space.
Graham Oliver, designer and maker of the Urban Grow Pods,
sat down to design his ideal garden studio when, with the
arrival of his son at the beginning of 2018, the office made
way to the nursery. “At times of economic uncertainty, we
think twice before we look to move from a home we love
in an area we feel settled in,” he says. His growing family
needed more space and wanted a high spec garden room
that would give them a light flooded and eco-conscious
office space to feel inspired in, with all year round use.
“The urban grow pod is eco-conscious through and through
and built to last in what has become a disposable society.
Sheep’s wool is an ideal natural material for insulation and
combined with our luxury lacquered birch panelling with
maple skirting and roofing details, the Pods feel amazing
to spend time in. We have the thickest walls on the garden
room market to insulate from urban distractions and ensure
a solid construction that is extremely well insulated.”
