Breakfast Hubs
Women
For the first Breakfast Hub, the Centre welcomed
a group of representatives from local NGOs and
organizations working to empower women.
Keynote speeches were delivered by Désirée
Schweitzer, the President of the UN Women
National Committee Austria and the Director
General of the Department for International
Development at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, and by Lilly Sucharipa, the former
President of the UN Women National Committee
Austria.
During the networking and brainstorming
sessions, the participants actively shared the
challenges and ideas for women empowerment at
national, regional, and global levels and how
solutions can be connected to the concept of
global citizenship.
Youth
The second Breakfast Hub brought together
young leaders and representatives from various
locally-based organizations that work with and
for youth and their empowerment. While
discussing their role as global citizens, the
participants shared their ideas on how the
concept of global citizenship can be connected to
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Keynotes were delivered by Billy Batware, Civil
Society Team at UNODC, who is also the
Co-founder of the Regional Academy on the
United Nations (RAUN), United for Education
and Sustainable Futures (UESF), Youth
