Conservation

Westminster promotes the link between business and responsible forest management in supporting

work to eliminate tropical hardwood from unknown, controversial and potentially illegal

sources.

Forest conservation is a highly beneficial opportunity to try and help reduce global warming.

Westminster supports conservation through improved management of tropical forests for the

good of the indigenous population, animals, plants and the whole environment. This is linked

to responsible organisations through production and eventual retailing of the finished goods.

Our core values ensure that all of the Westminster products are manufactured using the highest

quality materials available. They are constructed by skilled craftsmen to create exceptional

furniture that is designed and built to last.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is a non-profit organization that ensures that forestry

is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. If a product is

labelled as "FSC Certified," it means that the wood used in the product and the manufacturer

that made it has met the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council.

The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" for wood harvested from forests that

are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically

viable. Westminster is proud to offer its teak furniture products constructed solely using FSC

certified timber for the benefit of our planet and future generations. FSC Teak hardwood is

generally younger than its non-certified counterparts and therefore its characteristics can

differ with a wider grain and paler colour.

This does not detract from strength or durability of the final product which will last outside,

untreated, for many years.

Materials

Aluminium

Aluminium is a proven lightweight material which is very strong and therefore ideal for use as outdoor furniture. The aluminium

is powder coated to prevent oxidation and ensure years of outdoor use.

Stainless Steel

We use 304 grade stainless steel in our products as it retains an austenitic structure at all temperatures. 304 grade is

the most widely used of all the stainless steels. Its chemical composition, mechanical properties, weld ability and oxidation

resistance provide us with the best all-round performance stainless steel.

Woven

Our rod weave furniture is hand woven with Viro® fibre, a premium synthetic Polyethylene material. Highly flexible, UV

and weather resistant, this fibre is designed to be insensitive to temperature differences. All Westminster resin weave furniture

is easy to keep clean and virtually maintenance free.

Teak Hardwood

Only premium grade, plantation grown FSC Teak is used in Westminster furniture. One of the enduring qualities of teak

is its amazing resistance to the elements. The weathered Teak finish is achieved by treating the teak hardwood with an

oil blocking agent followed by a four layer specialised pigmented Polyurethane finish. Combined with the 304 Grade

Stainless Steel frames, this range of furniture perfectly mixes contemorary and classic materials with modern techniques

to create stylish and long lasting outdoor furniture.

Sunbrella® Fabric

Westminster use Sunbrella®, a fabric made of acrylic fibres with pigmentation added prior to extrusion, offering the rich

look and feel of cotton. It will not fade or degrade. Even in the harshest climates, the Sunbrella® fabric provides years

of care free service guaranteed against the elements. It can be cleaned with water, or by careful use of a high pressure

washer.

Quick Dry Foam

Westminster use an advanced, high-performance foam designed specifically for outdoor cushions and furniture. The

porous open-cell structure allows water to drain rapidly and fresh air to circulate freely, allowing the cushion to dry quickly.

Ceramic

Westminster ceramic table tops are made using a 3mm ceramic sheet doubled with a 5mm tempered glass layer which

ensures maximum strength and durability. The ceramic surface is resistant to scratches, UV, high/low temperatures, and

is very easy to clean. As is the case with any natural material, each ceramic table top is one of a kind, is beautiful, natural

and distinctive.

The heavy duty Sunset, medium duty Sunrise and the lighter weight Sunshine cantilever parasols are manufactured from high

performance aluminium and are available in either a silver colour or oak wood effect finish.

Sunrise

Both the Sunset and Sunrise have 8 aluminium ribs with discreet, integral LED lighting strips and are available in two sizes:

3.5m round and 4m x 3m rectangular. They can be rotated through 360° by use of a swivel foot pedal. The control handle

gives a number of shading angles. A detachable dimmer control unit is supplied as standard. The Sunshine is operated by

use of a crank handle and is available in one size which is 3.5m round and rotates through 360°.

All canopies are manufactured from 100% Spuncrylic polyester and are available in Taupe, Natural and Grey colours. There

is a choice of heavy duty base stands with the option of either granite blocks or sand and water filled (sand included) are

available. Alternatively, an in-ground base is also available which can be concreted into place for a more permanent fixture.

An all-weather cover is also included as standard. Replacement canopies are available to order.

automated Pergola & Roller Blinds

The Westminster Pergola is constructed from a Charcoal finished powder coated Aluminium frame featuring a concertina

roof made of heavy duty waterproof Satin Grey PVC fabric. A multi-functional remote control operates the

opening and closing of the roof, the LED lighting is integrated around the top of the Pergola frame and also any

additional roller blinds which are available for purchase separately.

The Grey Sling Roller Blinds can be simply positioned to any side of the Pergola to provide shade. A particular feature

of our Sling Fabric is that it allows air to flow freely creating minimal movement in windy conditions. Up to four

blinds can be inserted independently to any position ensuring effective shading and privacy when required.

Ceramic

Westminster ceramic table tops are made using a 3mm ceramic sheet doubled with a 5mm tempered glass

layer which ensures maximum strength and durability. The ceramic surface is resistant to scratches, UV, high/low

temperatures, hygienic and very easy to clean. As is the case with any natural material, each ceramic table top

is completely individual and one of a kind. The look of each ceramic surface is beautiful, natural and distinctive.

Sling

Sling mesh is made of PVC coated polyester yarns, woven and heat treated to become a durable and long

lasting fabric. Sling mesh is ideal for furniture that requires high tensile strength and breathability. Westminster

Sling is mildew and rot resistant, colourfast and easy to clean.

Powder Coated Aluminium Frames

The powder coating process begins with dipping the pre-welded frames in a bath of water, acid and aluminium

film in order to clean the products thoroughly and ensure a greater adhesion for the powder coating. The next

process involves spraying the frame with the powder coating using specilised equipment at a temperature approaching

200°C. Then finally, the frames are baked in an oven to ensure a hard, durable, surface finish.

superior corrosion resistance and durability. All stainless steel frames are manufactured from box section,

brushed 304 grade stainless steel.

A product so radical from anything else available, Sunbrella® has grown to be trusted as the outdoor fabric that

is guaranteed against the elements.

Furniture and cushions made using Sunbrella® fabric can be left outside all year round and can be simply cleaned with

plain water or to remove more stubborn stains, a mild solution of soapy water and bleach or careful use of a high pressure

washer. Westminster also recommend our Fabric Cleaner & Protector which removes dirt and helps restore fabric to look as

good as new.

The underside of each cushion incorporates a sling mesh panel to increase air circulation and accelerate the drying

process. The cushion filling is a quick drying foam with a Dacron wrapping for greater comfort.

Quick Drying Foam

Detailed cleaning instructions can be viewed at westminsteroutdoorliving.com, where information on specific stain removal

is available. The fabric and foam used in our products both conform to the British standard of BS5852 Part 1 and Part 2.

Where applicable, furniture includes fabric cushions available in Natural, Taupe or Charcoal colourways.

Cushion Disclaimer

Sunbrella® cushions are supplied with a five year manufacturers guarantee as standard.

Westminster will not be held responsible for cushion fabrics and fillings which have been damaged or cleaned incorrectly.

Product Materials

Furniture Care

Aluminium

By its very nature, powder-coated aluminium is an extremely durable material. Being almost impervious to the elements, it requires

little maintenance. However, to maintain the look of your aluminium products, we recommend that you periodically

clean them with warm soapy water using a mild detergent.

Stainless Steel

Has a deserved reputation for longevity of structure and appearance, but can show signs of staining or discolouration over time

(commonly referred to as “tea staining”). This is purely cosmetic. Cleaning will be necessary more regularly in coastal areas due

to salt exposure.

Glass

For best results clean clear glass with glass cleaner, then finish with water on a microfibre cloth which will leave glass smear free.

Ceramic

Our extremely tough and weather resistant Ceramic is not susceptible to weathering or mould. The ceramic surface is resistant

to scratches, UV, high/low temperatures, hygienic and very easy to clean. We recommend the use of mild household cleaning

agents or ceramic cleaners.

Sling & Weave

These materials require very little maintenance. However, if needed the use of warm soapy water or a high pressure washer at

a distance of approximately 15cm will help your furntiure retain its apperance.

Weathered Teak

One of the enduring qualities of teak is its amazing resistance to the elements. Westminster weathered teak incorporates an oil

blocking agent to prevent natural Teak oils from escaping followed by a specialized four layer pigmented Polyurethane and

sanding process. To clean, use soapy water, diluted white spirit or careful use of a power washer ensuring the nozzle is more

than 15cm from the surface. The special treatment finish comes with a 5 year guarantee. Day to day grease and grime should

not affect the finish. However strong chemicals or physical abuse may cause damage to the finish.

The Fabric Cleaner removes dirt and restores the fabric to look as good as new. This is for outdoor cushions, seatings and parasols.

After cleaning always treat with Fabric Protector.

The Fabric Protector is invisible and helps makes fabrics water & dirt repellent. It can help prevent stains while keeping the original

look of most fabrics. The Protector still allows the fabric to breath and moisture to escape, it also inhibits mould & mildew.

The Teak Protector is easy to apply and maintains the golden-brown colour of teak for an extended period, up to four times longer

than teak-oil. We would reccomend these products over teak oils as teak-oil often causes black spots. This will prevent black spots.

The teak protector is completely water-based and solvent-free, marked EcoSafe on the products.

Teak

One of the enduring qualities of teak is its amazing resistance to the elements. Teak can be left outside for many years and over

time will weather to a silver-grey. If you wish to remove the silver-grey appearance, the use of an electric sander will take off the

surface layer, then gently sand with a fine sand paper to smooth any raised grain. After a period of time teak can develop end

grain checking, which is quite natural and does not detract from the timber’s strength or durability.

Fabric Lounge and Sunbrella® Cushions

Westminster work with Sunbrella®, a fabric made of acrylic fibres with pigmentation added prior to extrusion, which includes a

5 year guarantee against fading. Even in the harshest climates, Sunbrella® provides years of low maintenance service and is

quite simply a superb outdoor fabric that is guaranteed against the elements. The fabric can be left outside all year round and

can be simply cleaned with plain water. To remove more stubborn stains use a mild solution of soapy water and bleach or careful

use of a high pressure washer. Westminster also recommend the Fabric Cleaner and Protector, to keep your fabrics looking as

Furniture Covers

Westminster covers are made from heavy duty black polyester PVC coated fabric including a velcro bottom hem, where necessary,

to secure. Covers are designed to protect complete dining sets and individual deep seating items, including cushions, against

most general dirt and grime. Please note: Water will permeate through the seams and covers are liable to fade.

Furniture covers carry a one year guarantee.
