Village of Homer Glen Elected Officials<br />
Homer Glen is a home-rule municipality<br />
governed by a Village President, commonly<br />
called Mayor, and a six-member Board of<br />
Trustees, all of whom are elected at-large<br />
to overlapping four-year terms. The Village<br />
Manager oversees the Village’s daily<br />
administrative duties and carries out the<br />
policies of the Mayor and Village Board.<br />

Public Works<br />
All public works functions, including<br />
maintenance of 109 miles of streets, bridge<br />
maintenance, snowplowing, storm water<br />
drainage maintenance, etc., are provided<br />
through a contract with the Homer<br />
Township Road District.<br />
Water and Sanitary Sewer Service is<br />
provided by Illinois American Water<br />
Company, a private company.<br />
Refuse Collection<br />
Village-wide refuse, recycling, and yard<br />
waste collection and disposal service for<br />
all residential properties is provided by<br />
Homewood Disposal (NuWay), under an<br />
agreement with the Village of Homer Glen.<br />

Building Permits &<br />
Inspections<br />
Most renovation and new construction<br />
activities require a building permit from the<br />
Village’s Building Department. Please call the<br />
Village’s Building Department at (708) 301-<br />
1301 for assistance with determining whether<br />
your project requires a building permit.<br />
Business Registration<br />
All businesses operating within the corporate<br />
boundaries of Homer Glen are required<br />
to register annually with the Village. The<br />
application form is available on the Village<br />
website or contact the Village Clerk for more<br />
information at (708) 301-0632.<br />
Annual Village Events<br />
Homer Fest: June 20-23, 2019, Heritage<br />
Park, Thursday night fireworks. Parade on<br />
Saturday.<br />
