POLICE DEPARTMENT<br />
The Lemont Police Department consists of men and women<br />
committed to the safety and well-being of our residents and<br />
visitors. It is the mission of the Lemont Police Department to<br />
safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce<br />
the incidence of fear and crime and to enhance the public safety<br />
while partnering with our residents to improve their quality of life.<br />
The Lemont Police Department offers numerous programs to<br />
residents including: Prescription and OTC Drug Disposal, Vacation<br />
Watch, Neighborhood Watch program, Police Explorer Program<br />
(Cadets), Senior and Law Enforcement (SALT), Child Safety Seat<br />
Inspections, Station Tours and community events such as Kops N<br />
Kidz Day. Kops N Kidz day allows the residents to interact with the<br />
Police Department in a fun and positive way.<br />
Each of these programs affirms our commitment to the concept of<br />
community policing. We consider the citizens we serve a partner<br />
in providing meaningful police service.<br />
FIRE DEPARTMENT<br />
Serving Lemont and its surrounding area since 1886, the mission<br />
of the Lemont Fire Protection District is to continue the tradition<br />
of providing professional service to all with Integrity, Honor, and<br />
Dedication.<br />
Today, the district encompasses 40 square miles in Cook, DuPage,<br />
and Will Counties while providing service to the communities of<br />
Lemont, Woodridge, Darien, and Palos Park. We employ 54 sworn<br />
full time Firefighter/ Paramedics and 14 support staff. The district<br />
works from 4 Fire Stations and utilizes 4 Fire Engines, 1 Aerial<br />
Ladder, 4 ALS Ambulances, 1 Tender, 1 Hazardous Materials Truck,<br />
1 Dive Vehicle, and 1 UTV.<br />
We respond to approximately 4100 emergency calls per year and<br />
provide services for Fire, EMS, Specialty Rescue, Fire Prevention<br />
and Inspection, Fire Investigation, and Public Education. To learn<br />
