Jeff Doctorow has been
directing his compulsive
addictive tendencies toward
guitars for over forty years now.
The focus of his collection has
shifted dramatically from all
vintage to almost exclusively
contemporary and modern
cutting-edge guitars, with a
special penchant for instruments
with (many) extra strings. His
instruments have been featured
in books and museum exhibitions.
Jeff has also published a book
about Steve Klein titled “Art
That Sings.” He has lectured at
guitar shows about his particularly
intuitive approach to collecting.
Irreverently referring to himself
as “The Anti-Collector,” his guitars are not stored away in cases
gathering dust, but are played regularly and often lent to other
guitarists for recording and gigs. “They are instruments first and
foremost, and improve dramatically the more they are played.”
Jeff is honored and most humbled to count some of the greatest
builders and players as close personal friends.

is Good Enough”) Gibson
guitars made between
1942 and 1945 for all comers
to play, WWII Gibson
ephemera to examine, and
a continuously playing video
loop displayed on a laptop
computer of interviews
with some of the original
Kalamazoo Gals.
Copies of his book
will be on sale.
