THE HONEST KITCHEN

CHIOS Social Lounge is launching a unique and

ambitious concept – the honest kitchen.

We have started the revolution of good taste

and bon goût in the heart of Cluj-Napoca and

we have reinvented ourselves. The core of our

vision? The human being and its individual and

collective evolution.

We started by testing the honest kitchen, one

of the most important virtues of our entire

philosophy. As the very name of the cuisine

suggests, our attitude towards customers is

naturally honest. Moreover, the quality of food

reflects on our health. A healthy individual

is active, creative and prosperous, both for

himself/herself and the greater good.

We constantly strive to serve our costumers

quality food at the highest standards.

Consequently, our gastronomy consultants are

continually making sure that our menu is no less

than exclusivist. We are always concerned with

the quality of our food; this is why we refuse to

use chemicals in our dishes, and our ingredients

are always natural and freshly bought from local

producers and suppliers. Where the Romanian

market is unable to meet our demands, we

import ingredients from those international

producers who do not compromise on quality.

For us, the authentic taste of our food is a top

priority. As such, if we want to smoke certain

products, we will do it in-house, using cherry

and apple wood, which confers a special flavour

to our food. Furthermore, we replace sugar with

honey or molasses. Sauces are home cooked

using an original recipe, and the selection of

different types of bread is also the work of our


talented chefs. We are very proud of our squid

ink bread, unique in the area.

As supporters of the Mindful Eating concept, we

make sure that our space offers each customer

the opportunity to relax while savouring our

dishes. We would like to make every visit to Chios

a special experience full of unique sensations.

Mindfulness is a technique designed to improve

well-being. It helps us eliminate stress and

reach an ideal weight. Another great advantage

of this technique is that mindfulness helps us

improve focus, managing to keep us here and

now.

What does mindfulness have to do with food?

Basically, it teaches us how to eat. Correct

breathing is one of the key elements in this

process. A well oxygenated brain helps us

stay present and aware. Each body reaction is

essential, and accepting all of the sensations

our body experiences is vital to a general state

of well-being.

If we become aware of our physiological

sensations of hunger and fullness instead of

focusing on worrying for example about every

ingested calorie, we will be able to eat the

exact quantity of food that our body needs. In

a nutshell, we want to learn to eat consciously!

Mindful Eating is accessible to everyone who

wants to improve their physical and spiritual

health.
