SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES 2019 Mission Statement "saving lives through education" Our mission is focused on providing mental health awareness and suicide prevention programmes to schools and colleges where our facilitators work directly with students to promote awareness, provide skills and advice, and support teachers and staff as needed. We provide a wide range of online resources including online training and youth self-harm and suicide publications; we operate a FreeText service where people in need of crisis information can text our information service free of charge. Our Facilitators and volunteers also arrange and provide outreach events and awareness campaigns around the country for parents, community organisations and voluntary groups. We also provide services to youth organisations, youth diversion projects, clubs and sports organisations upon request. Why consider supporting youth suicide prevention? During 2019 our facilitators will work, face to face, with over 12,500 secondary school students in more than 70 schools around the country. We are the only youth-orientated national suicide charity and we work just for young people up to 22 years of age. You can work with us to support our services and our young people by helping to fund our dedicated Schools Facilitators who provide our Youth Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention programme for schools, colleges and other youth organisations. If we can add Ireland’s first mobile youth crisis counselling centre to our services we will be able to respond to crises in schools very quickly and provide immediate targeted mental health services. As you can imagine providing suicide awareness and prevention information directly to young people in a safe and supportive environment is critical to helping to reduce the frighteningly high rates of youth suicide in Ireland. With your help we can increase the level of services that we are able to provide and bring these vital services to more schools, colleges and youth organisations. Through our awareness and prevention work all across the country we are able to provide resources for young people, their friends, families, teachers, coaches and many more concerned people so that they all have the vital information they need to detect the early signs of pre-suicidal behaviours and help prevent more young deaths.
