The Shuttleworth Collection is home to vintage

aircraft and vehicles, classic motorcycles and

veteran bicycles plus agricultural exhibits. It

opened back in 1963 and has been attracting

visitors from around the world ever since. With

six large hangars, workshops, an aerodrome and

The House at Shuttleworth, it's perhaps

not surprising that the estate is a popular film

location and wedding venue.

Located just off the A1 near Biggleswade, The

House at Shuttleworth dates back to 1875. With

many original features and with elegant interiors

reminiscent of the period, meetings, training

days and conferences at Shuttleworth set the bar

high. Welcoming up to 150 delegates, the venue

provides excellent audio visual conferencing, free

WiFi and ample free parking. A chef committed

to delivering the freshest of produce heads up

the on-site catering team and menus can be

created to complement the style of event.

For added drama, hire Hangar 3 for a reception

or celebration. The impressive backdrops of

historic exhibits are a great conversation starter

and on a balmy summer evening, with the hangar

doors wide open, it's certainly a memorable and

stylish occasion.

For a special dinner with the cars Beaulieu

Motor Museum in Hampshire will transport

guests into a pioneering period of land speed

records and Formula 1 championship cars along

with historic vehicles dating back to 1875.

The world-famous museum has a great selection

of spaces for meetings, conferences, celebrations

and team-building. The Domus welcomes up to

150 delegates and was originally part of an 800

year old Abbey that was destroyed by Henry VIII.

The dormitory, known as the Domus, and the

Monks' Refectory both survived and for an event

where a medieval setting is required, this is a

dream setting.

Travelling forward to the present and the lecture

theatre at Beaulieu provides all the modern day

technology and equipment for an impressive

presentation or conference for up to 220 guests.

With tiered seating and no pillars or posts,

its own entrance and a great reception area

for registration, networking and catering, this

purpose-built event space has a winning formula.

Beaulieu Motor Museum has an experienced

event coordinator so you can be confident

of selecting the best space and know that all

the details of your event will be fine tuned for

The Greenwich Yacht Club was founded in

1908 and moved to its home on Pear Tree Wharf

in 1999. Nestled between the O2 Arena and the

Thames Barrier, this quirky venue certainly brings

a refreshing setting to the corporate world of

meetings and events.

Creating a striking picture on the River Thames,

the Club House appears to be a two story building

sitting on stilts. Accessible by bridge or boat, the

building sits on an old ferry dock and with its large

floor to ceiling windows, the space is flooded with

an abundance of natural light and has unrivalled

views over the famous river. Suitable for an

afternoon champagne reception for up to 150

guests, a breakfast meeting for 28 delegates or a

celebratory dinner and dance for 64 people, the

Club House is certain to captivate.

If your event would benefit from some outside

space, the Greenwich Yacht Club's River Rooms

have a large outdoor decking with views over the

Thames and the boatyard and accommodates

200 guests for a reception or 90 delegates for a

theatre-style room set-up.

With a large lounge bar and a kitchen plus eight

superb accredited caterers who will construct a

menu to match your requirements, this quirky

London sailing club venue has titanic appeal.

From catching a breeze in the sails to the power

of steam and a ship that changed the world;

Brunel's SS Great Britain. Located on the Great

Western Dock in Bristol, this beautifully restored

ship provides meeting and event facilities above

and below deck in an historic dockyard setting.

Further conference and meeting space is available

in the new museum, Being Brunel, which offers

state-of-the-art facilities and bright and spacious

rooms for up to 160 guests.

Another versatile space on the harbour side is

Brunel Square. This can comfortably host up to

300 guests for an outdoor event, vehicle showcase

or product launch. Alternatively, jump aboard the

historic ship and host a reception or networking

session on the weather deck which welcomes up

to 150 guests.

For a touch of royalty, the elegant First Class Dining

Saloon is a combination of Victorian opulence with

modern day technology. For a private reception

or dining occasion, this space drips with luxury

and comfort.

Not just for celebrations, dining and receptions,

the SS Great Britain is just as notable for a smaller

board room meeting. A particular favourite is the

Kirby Laing Room which has a feature curved

wall and the historic foundation of the steamship

engine works.

Wedding Coordinator, Chicheley Hall

Siobhan Willmott is the wedding coordinator

at Chicheley Hall in Buckinghamshire. She has

first-hand experience of being a bride at the

stunning Grade I listed mansion as this was where

she chose to tie the knot! Combine this with

her five years of welcoming couples, planning,

coordinating and fulfilling their wishes, and you

can be sure a wedding or special occasion at

Chicheley Hall under the direction of Siobhan is

going to be memorable.

"I love Chicheley, meeting the soon to be

newlyweds and seeing how our venue can work

in delivering their dream day. I have a great

relationship with local suppliers too so I can

make recommendations to the happy couple for

photographers, cake makers and florists too which

helps with the organisation and finishing touches.

"We have 48 guestrooms and can offer discounted

rates for friends and family staying for the

wedding. Our wedding packages are based on

traditional weddings but we do love being able

to tailor a bespoke package for a couple who

want something out of the ordinary. Couples

have a good choice for photo opportunities too!

The Grand Hall has a sweeping staircase inside

the wedding ceremony room and our stunning

formal gardens bring an elegant backdrop to

formal and informal photographs.

"Much of my working day involves answering

enquiries for weddings, special events, baby

showers, anniversaries and birthday parties in

addition to showing people around our lovely

Georgian manor house. I always have plenty of

goody bags ready to hand out so people can take

away all the information they need on an event at

Chicheley Hall. And it's great when we welcome

them back for menu tastings and fine-tuning their

wedding day wishes before the big day itself!"

Macdonald Burlington Hotel

undergoes £750,000 refurbishment

The four-star Macdonald Burlington Hotel

in Birmingham City Centre has unveiled the

first phase of a £750,000 renovation of its

meeting and events spaces. The investment

marks the repositioning of the hotel’s conference

facilities to become a standalone multi-purpose

events venue.

To date, a total of 16 meeting rooms have

undergone refurbishment to refresh the interiors

and install the latest technology. Rooms have

been fitted with 75 inch flat-screen LCD screens

and state-of-the-art ClickShare connectivity.

Designed to encourage collaboration, the

technology allows delegates to connect their

devices to the main presentation screen and

share content at the click of a button.

The hotel’s largest function room, which can host

over 500 guests, is also due for refurbishment,

with work scheduled to commence later this

year. The modernisation of the hotel’s facilities

comes in anticipation of a busy summer calendar

of high-profile events, which includes the official

launch of the first phase of refurbishment later

this month.

A further event is planned for September when

the hotel’s largest function room – the 500-person

capacity Horton Suite - is completed.

Regarded as one of the city’s leading conference

venues, the hotel was awarded the BDRC

VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation in

2018 for outstandingly high levels of customer

satisfaction.

Marco Pierre White to open

a new restaurant in Sheffield

The new Marco Pierre White restaurant, which

will be a Steakhouse Bar & Grill, will open at the

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park and

is expected to start welcoming guests towards

the end of June.

Dubbed the godfather of modern cooking,

the famed chef and restaurateur has led the

UK restaurant scene for over 25 years. Having

helped kick-start the careers of many famous

chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Heston

Blumenthal and Jason Atherton, all of whom

trained under him, he has now confirmed that

his latest addition will be at the popular hotel

that’s located just five miles from the Peak

District National Park.

The new Steakhouse Bar & Grill will replace

the venue’s Piano Restaurant, and follows a deal

between Vine Hotels, which owns and operates

the venue, and Black And White Hospitality,

which is the franchising arm of Pierre White’s

restaurant business.

Bringing to life Marco’s own philosophy of

what he describes as ‘affordable glamour’ the

Steakhouse Bar & Grill is an exciting and bright

dining experience that includes signature

steaks, timeless English and French classics

that are simply cooked. The menu is exclusively

curated by Marco and typically includes a mix of

childhood favourites and modern-day delicacies

which uses the freshest ingredients.
