“You need to find a balance
of what looks good and what they
want,” he said.
Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery
in Swisher also gets its share of
signature drink requests from
clients. The venue is required by
law to only use spirits it distills in
the cocktails served on-site.
“So, with that in mind, our
cocktails are designed to highlight
our products,” said Ashton
Johnson, Cedar Ridge’s events
manager. “Rather than making
drinks to hide the spirit’s flavors,
we aim to showcase them in each
unique drink.”
Maikka also tries to keep it
local, using products from Cedar
Ridge, wines made at The Winery
at Kirkwood and herbs grown
in the Kirkwood greenhouse,
event, they do create a lot of buzz
– so to speak.
“Attendees definitely take
notice when they see a lot of
blue drinks ‘walking around’ and
are curious to try it,” Levitt said.
“Guests appreciate these little
details, but we’ve seen a more
positive response from sponsors.
they requested the recipe and
decided to feature it at their own
office gathering.” n
