Oh, hi there- I’m Anna Louise and I live in Portland, OR<br />
with my sweet pup Dorothy and cross-eyed kitty Lola.<br />
I moved to this beautiful city and bought my home 5 years ago. It’s<br />
a sweet 1920’s Cape Cod style house that I have been putting lots of<br />
love and elbow grease into ever since. As I sit here writing this, it’s a<br />
classically gray and moody day in Portland, and I’m curled up on my<br />
couch with a cup of herbal tea. From the next room, the sounds of<br />
raindrops on the window and piano jazz on the speaker slightly echo<br />
off the hardwood floor. I think that’s Bill Evans playing now? His live<br />
version of “Spring Is Here” always makes me feel just such a way.<br />
A slight hint of the palo santo I burned earlier in the day still lingers<br />
delicately both in the air and on my fingers- woodsy, sultry, soft. It’s<br />
one of the first days of the slowly warming season that my bedroom<br />
window has been cracked open. The breeze coming off the Columbia<br />
river nearby my home sneaks its way in and softly ruffles the curtains<br />
as it brushes its way past. A crow caws and a car door slams shut from<br />
somewhere down the street. The clock inches towards 4:15pm. Tuesday<br />
afternoon bliss.<br />
