16 SUNDAYS @ SIX —The Alamosa Live Music Association<br />

presents free concerts in Cole Park throughout the summer. The series<br />

runs from June 23 to August 25 each Sunday at 6 p.m. Entertainment<br />

this summer includes Soul, R&B, Honky-Tonk, Americana, Jazz<br />

And Big Band, Soul-Funk, Spanish, Rock, Jamband, Celtic and<br />

Funk Rock. The first concert is scheduled June 23 featuring Dane<br />

Arnold & The Soup, Soul and R&M music. For more information<br />

17 RAILS & ALES BREWFEST<br />

Saturday, June 15, <strong>2019</strong> - On behalf of the Rio Grande Scenic<br />

Railroad and the San Luis Valley Brewing Company– welcome to<br />

Alamosa and our event! We are glad you are attending. Here are<br />

some details that you need to know. They are critical to your safety,<br />

satisfaction, and having an overall good time. Please bring your<br />

ID! This is a 21 years and older only event. No children, including<br />

infants. Proof of age for all souls will be required in order to board<br />

the train and attend the event. Ticketing: You may pick up your<br />

tickets any time after 12 p.m. noon on Friday. We recommend<br />

collecting your tickets early in order to avoid the long line on<br />

Saturday Morning. The ticket window is open late until 9 p.m. on<br />

Friday evening. So come get your tickets Friday and then go enjoy<br />

the Block Party at San Luis Valley Brewing. We will re-open at 7<br />

a.m. on Saturday Morning. The Depot is located at 610 State Ave.<br />

18 FOURTH OF JULY — Celebrate the 4th of July in Alamosa<br />

beginning with the Kiwanis pancake breakfast in the morning, 7-10<br />

a.m., followed by a parade down Main Street at 10. Fireworks are<br />

planned at dusk at the Alamosa Fairgrounds.<br />

19 FARMERS MARKET — The Alamosa Farmers’ Market<br />

runs Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July to October featuring local<br />

produce, food, crafts, cooking demonstrations, educational activities<br />

for all ages, and live music in the parking lot at State and Sixth Streets<br />

in downtown Alamosa and beginning this year in a second location,<br />

the farm park just north of the Highway 160/17 intersection, Alamosa,<br />

20 CATTAILS GOLF COURSE — With a beautiful<br />

clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant, under new management, the<br />

Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa has been praised throughout<br />

the Rocky Mountain Region for its superb condition and<br />

challenging 18 holes. Call 589-9515 to reserve tee times.<br />

Also, enjoy a disc golf course adjacent to Cattails on the<br />

Alamosa Ranch.<br />

21 ROLLIN’ DEEP CAR SHOW — Celebrate Father’s Day<br />

with the entire family at Alamosa’s Cole Park with the free 24th<br />

Annual Rollin’ Deep Car Show on Sunday, June 16, featuring low<br />

rider custom cars and motorcycles, all makes, models and years.<br />

Enjoy a pre-hop Saturday with live music, hop contest and food.<br />

22 SACRED HEART CHURCH — The historic Catholic<br />

church on Fourth Street in Alamosa was constructed between<br />

1922-1928, and is an interesting interpretation of the Mission<br />

style designed by prominent architect Robert Willison. Step inside<br />

to see outstanding murals painted in the 1940s by German artist<br />

Josef Steinhage.<br />

23 CAT’S CLASSIC MOTOCROSS — Experience AMA-<br />

Pro Am motocross action at the Cat’s Classic Motocross scheduled<br />

for July 5-7 at the Sutak Raceway, 8131 Road 11 South, Alamosa.<br />

Sutak Raceway is a historic motocross track where racer/promoter<br />

Dwight Catalano has hosted numerous events. Visit catsclassics.<br />

24 RIO GRANDE SCENIC RAIL EXCURSIONS — The<br />

railroad offers a variety of trips originating from Alamosa and La<br />

Veta, with stops in Fort Garland, Monte Vista and Antonito. One<br />

of the great features is the Mountain Rails Live Summer Concerts<br />

set in a beautiful natural mountain amphitheater. Headliners this<br />

year include Jim Curry: Tribute to the Music of John Denver,<br />

Michael Martin Murphey, Judy Collins, Pure Prairie League, Suzy<br />

Bogguss, Riders in the Sky, Peter Yarrow and Tom Rush. The<br />

Annual Rails & Ales Brewfest is June 15 when train passengers<br />

can sample beers from numerous regional breweries at a remote<br />

25 SPLASHLAND — The Splashland Hot Springs features<br />

naturally artesian warm water. The pool is located just a mile<br />

north of Alamosa on Highway 17. Splashland offers water<br />

aerobics, deep water cardio, water yoga and parent-tot classes.<br />
