Tucker Ponds is a great place for kids to fish, and Big Meadows and Beaver Reservoirs offer great fishing all year long. This year marks the 98th anniversary of the San Luis Valley Ski Hi Stampede planned July 25-28. There will be parades beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The rodeo brings major entertainment and many of the best cowboys in the country to Monte Vista’s Ski-Hi Arena. Also enjoy dances, fireworks, carnival and chuckwagon dinner.
