Business & Community Support
2018 has been a fantastic year for the fundraising team and we have introduced lots of
new events to our calendar as we push forward in our fundraising campaign to ‘Raise
the Roof’ of Margaret Chadd House.
We’ve had so much support this year and a few
lines just isn’t enough space to include everything,
so here’s just a few of our fundraising events. You
can read about our inspirational fundraisers and
their achievements on our website.
We’ve had 8 ‘Brave and Bold’ recruits taking to the skies 13,000 ft up
above Beccles in tandem skydives to raise over £5000. What an
amazing achievement!
Our ‘Light Up the Night’ Neon Walk set the Great Yarmouth Seafront
all a ‘GLO’ in July when a small army of neon clad entrants joined
together and walked in memory of loved ones.
Any one for golf? Gorleston Golf Club was the venue of choice for our
first ever Charity Golf Day in September with our main event sponsor
Morgan Sindall. Local companies supported the day with teams of four
to enjoy a day on the fairways trying to avoid the fun forfeits along the way. Additional
support came from Robinsons VW Lowestoft when they offered a car as a fabulous
‘Hole in One’ prize with holes on the course very kindly sponsored by local companies.
A sumptuous carvery dinner was served followed by an auction and the day collectively
raised £6700 for our appeal.
Our festive calendar is ‘Full of Fun for Everyone’ - we have a
Christmas Craft Market; Santa’s Grotto and our East Coast
Santa Dash is back after a very successful first year. Entries are
‘Snowballing’ in for our 2K family fun run and 5K chip-timed
race. Whether you choose to walk, skip or run there’s something
for everyone so it’s time to get ‘Santa Suited and Booted’ and
register your place at this year’s event.
The ‘Lights of Love’ appeal returns for the month of December.
We invite the community to join with us and remember loved
ones during the festive period by dedicating a light on our
Christmas tree at the hospice site with a donation. A service to support the appeal will
be held on 7 th December from 5.30 - 6.15pm, at the Great Yarmouth Minster. We
cordially invite you to join us with the Northgate Infant School Choir who will be singing.
There is so much more planned for 2019 - do please keep a look out on our website
and social media pages for more information so you can pop the dates in your diary.
We are always very grateful for volunteer support and it would be great if you could
give spare some time to join us at our FUN-draising events.
There are many ways you can help with the build and specialist equipment for
the Hospice. Your support could help fund a syringe driver, to assist with pain
control, to the build itself.
When people have passed way, we forget how they died as there is nothing to
remind us because our loved one or friend has gone.
With your support, we can move closer to building the hospice to provide
specialist care for patients and their families living with a life-limiting illness.
Your school, college, office or business can help by raising funds to purchase
the equipment needed for the hospice. Our fundraising team can meet you
and discuss ways in which you can help us.
We aim to ensure that every moment counts, however short.
We are happy to discuss other items with you.
