Long Lake has events galore coming up in <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong>, our community<br />
is a giant summer camp for all ages. We offer paddling adventures,<br />
hiking adventures, competitions, live music and fun ways <strong>to</strong> create<br />
life-long memories.<br />
We kick <strong>the</strong> summer off with a traditional 4th of July Celebration<br />
complete with fireworks in both Raquette Lake and Long Lake as<br />
well as Kids Games, and Live Music with Grit N Grace a modern<br />
country, rock and dance band <strong>to</strong> help us celebrate and kick it up a<br />
notch. Look for <strong>the</strong>m on <strong>the</strong> Long Lake Town Beach. On July <strong>20</strong>,<br />
<strong>the</strong> US Waterski Show Team returns <strong>to</strong> perform <strong>the</strong>ir competition<br />
ready performance piece. Human pyramids, jumps, and death-defying<br />
stunts will be featured. The US Waterski Show Teams wows <strong>the</strong><br />
crowd Saturday, July <strong>20</strong>th Long Lake Town Beach 1<strong>20</strong>4 Main Street.<br />
The fun Cardboard Box Floating Competition starts at 11am - 1pm so<br />
come <strong>to</strong> Long Lake and stay all day.<br />
Durant Days in Raquette Lake celebrates <strong>the</strong> birth of Great Camps<br />
Architecture. Our Adirondack region is steeped with his<strong>to</strong>ry,<br />
<strong>the</strong> evolution of train travel ,his<strong>to</strong>ric American Iconic<br />
financial titans and <strong>the</strong> birthplace of <strong>the</strong> American Vacation.<br />
Do not miss this opportunity <strong>to</strong> enjoy a dining cruise on<br />
Raquette and access <strong>to</strong> Great Camps only available during this<br />
exclusive weekend Durant Days, August 2nd – 4th. On Friday,<br />
August 2nd, <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong> <strong>the</strong>re is a special cruise making s<strong>to</strong>ps at his<strong>to</strong>ric<br />
Camp Pine Knot, <strong>the</strong> original Great Camp, as well as Saint Williams<br />
Long Poing and <strong>the</strong> site of <strong>the</strong> original Durant Village. On Saturday<br />
Durant Days continues with Live Music with a cappella group Wide<br />
Variety and a Boat Parade at 6pm. At 7pm, new for <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong> is Hollywood<br />
Magician, critically acclaimed Magician, James Warren. Tickets<br />
are $<strong>20</strong>. Saturday nights finale will conclude with a shows<strong>to</strong>pping<br />
Fireworks display sponsored by <strong>the</strong> Town of Long Lake.<br />
Sunday as Durant Days winds down <strong>the</strong>re will be <strong>to</strong>ur of Great<br />
Camp Sagamore and Vespers on St. Huberts Isle in <strong>the</strong> afternoon.<br />
In <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong> Long Lake will be hosting Music by <strong>the</strong> Lake at <strong>the</strong><br />
Long Lake Town Beach. Upcoming concert events include a<br />
show by Sara<strong>to</strong>ga Based, Fenimore Blues on Saturday, July 13th,<br />
Bob Stump performs on Friday, July 19th, NCPR will be beachside<br />
for <strong>the</strong> popular Beat Authority on Friday, July 26th followed<br />
up with live music by Alex Smith. August sees <strong>the</strong> Bad Chaperones<br />
playing all <strong>the</strong> hits and Music by <strong>the</strong> Lake winds up with <strong>the</strong><br />
Award-Winning Country Duo, Turning S<strong>to</strong>ne’s very own, Beadle<br />
Bro<strong>the</strong>rs will be performing at <strong>the</strong> Fire Department Chicken<br />
BBQ on a new date for <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong> on August 24th. All Music By<br />
<strong>the</strong> Lake Concerts will be held on <strong>the</strong> Long Lake Town Beach at 1<strong>20</strong>4<br />
Main Street except for Beadle Bro<strong>the</strong>rs who will perform live at<br />
<strong>the</strong> Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. Arrive by boat, car or <strong>the</strong> nature trail!<br />
Long Lake and Raquette Lake are both small Adirondack <strong>to</strong>wns with<br />
au<strong>the</strong>ntic local flavor. No big box s<strong>to</strong>res, no chains, just down home,<br />
unplug and unwind. You don’t need more than <strong>the</strong> lakes, but <strong>the</strong>re’s<br />
plenty <strong>to</strong> explore and see when visiting this area. Find out what it<br />
