The Northeastern Native American
Tribes encompass an area reaching
from Main to Wisconsin on the north
to as far south as South Carolina and
over to Illinois. The women of these
Tribes made clothing, basketry, and
many tools. They also planted and cared
for most of the agricultural crops and
typically caught or harvested most of the
food used by a Tribal group. Men built
houses, hunted and fished and made
most of the tools used for this. They
also participated in warring and holding
councils.

Tribes. For men, clothing consisted of
a breechcloth consisting of a strip of
leather drawn between the legs and held
in place by a belt at the waist. Kind of an
early form of the athletic supporter only

also had leggings which were like two
