FOCUS
50 YEARS OF
NEW COLLEGE
Alumni Open Day
and Sports Afternoon
2019 is a very exciting
year for New College as
we celebrate 50 years of
student life, community
growth, Christian
ministry, and academic
achievement. Our
fantastic Back to New
weekend offered alumni
and their families the
opportunity to revisit
their old home and catch
up with old friends. Over
450 alumni, partners
and family members
participated in aspects of
the Back to New Weekend.
The Open Day and Sports
Afternoon at Back to New was
a relaxed and enjoyable time
at the College. Alumni had
opportunities to explore the building,
chat with friends, learn about the
history of the College, enjoy a BBQ lunch
and play social sport. Sport favourites
such as soccer and catcheroozle had
lots of ex-cols running around. What’s
catcheroozle? It’s a wonderful game
with netball-like rules, replacing a hoop
with a teammate standing on a chair or
milk crate (who hopefully can catch!).
The games were casual and had people
of all ages getting involved. A big thank
you to our 2019 Assistant Dean Jacqui
Willing, who helped run and organise
the fun and spirited Sports Afternoon.
A wonderful time was had by all.
