2019 Exclusively Review

The Show Review of the 2019 Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical shos

Visitors show a 5% increase

The 2019 show ended with exhibitors

in excellent spirits. The core show

visitors were on a par with previous

years, the good news being that the

actual number of retailers attending

increased, while the number of

delegates per retailer reduced. The

show’s overall attendance rose by

just over 5%, fuelled by a relatively

new breed of visitors to the show, the

influencers and consumer press.

Exclusively 2019 was a quality

show featuring over 150

exhibitors presenting over 275 of

their brands. The feedback from

exhibitors has been positive,

with many commenting on the

quality of visitors to their stands

including new customers, as

well as the increasing numbers

of influencers and bloggers. It

was very pleasing to witness

the show’s Brand Showcase

initiative, now in its 3rd year,

gain considerable momentum,

with attendance more than

double that of 2018. This

initiative, alongside the Trend

Initiatives with Scarlet Opus,

highlights how the content of

the show does need to adapt

and mirror the changing face of

the market,” comments Will Jones,

BHETA Chief Operating Officer and

Exclusively Shows Chairman.

This year’s show was packed with over

150 leading exhibitors including 32

fabulous new exhibitors in housewares,

tabletop and small domestic

appliances offering a myriad of new

products and appealing new brands.

“The show’s unique ‘invited

buyer’ and preshow marketing

have delivered a strong visitor

line-up for exhibitors once

again,” confirmed Simon Boyd.

Uniquely, the show team vet all

potential visitors, carefully inviting

only bona fide buyers to attend. “The

show team are delighted with

the resulting mix and quality of

retailers that attended,” continues

Simon. “The show embraced

many new retailers who are

championing new and evolving

routes to market, alongside

large respected names from the

high street, the grocery sector,

buying groups, e-commerce and

mail order, and, of course, the

hard working and determined

The Exclusively Gift Voucher, run in

partnership with Bira, again drew

independents and reaped rewards, as

highlighted by Jeff Moody, Managing

Director, Bira Direct: “This year’s

Exclusively Gift’ initiative brought

over 60 Bira members to the show,

building on the success of last

year. It was great to see so many

of our members at this event and

hear so many positive comments,

not just about the voucher

initiative but the show in general.”

Concluding, Martin de la Fuente of

Ocado, adds: “Exclusively is a

great place for the Ocado team

to get together with so many

key suppliers in one place. It’s a

great use of two days to catch up

on trends, new products and seek

out new suppliers. Exclusively

Housewares and Exclusively

Electrical is one of the most

important dates in our diaries.”

Here’s what

the exhibitors

are saying

“Thermos had a very successful

show; turnout was much higher

than usual, and the team

met with a lot of customers

both old and new! Arguably

one of the best shows we’ve

had in terms of meetings, we

had visits from many of our

national accounts as well as

potential new customers. This

show was the first show where

we were approached by a lot

of bloggers, influencers and

other media gurus. We are

already seeing the effects of

it with people having already

reached out to get in touch

with us.” Nina James, Thermos

“I wanted to take the

opportunity to congratulate

you on an absolutely excellent

show. Well run, well organised,

well presented, enjoyed by

both exhibitors and visitors

alike.” Nick Squire, George East

“Thanks for another great

show! We have received a

couple of leads already from

the showcase which is great

news.” Danielle Marsh, Oxo
