Solomon Grey’s single is given a remix from UK producer Hectic. The
piano chords lead us in with a feeling of melancholy. A sturdy beat cuts
through like a treacherous dagger. An eerie voice asks ‘How could I ever
live without you?’ The intensity rises as a powerful string section
creates a moving atmosphere. The percussion becomes more textured,
dappled with feverish notes as if trying to speak out. A mysterious and
perplexing mood is formed.
The music video is equally dramatic and reveals a dark story. A love
triangle. A cursed fate. A controlling lover attempting to force
happiness. Tormented minds know not what they do, the fog clouding
over any clear judgement. A deathly pill thickens the plot.
“It was a great opportunity and pleasure to remix Solomon Grey and I
hope I did the original justice. The talented students and staff at Bolton
College have done an incredible job on the video and it’s a great visual
representation for the track.” Hectic
The visual piece features Bolton College performing arts students and
was filmed in and around the college. It is filmed and edited by Bolton
College theatre technician Edd Lewis, and directed by Bolton College
performing arts tutor Kyle Cambray.
