AVALON ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS

JOHN KEARNS

Two-Time Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner.

Four-Time Chortle Award Nominee.

John Kearns returns!

Still a slave to dairy, the Gregorian calendar and

Greenwich Mean Time, he is flesh and blood after

all. A funny man, not for everyone of course, but

remember this mustn’t be mistaken as an invite

rather a heads-up. Based on the theory that the

most interesting places on maps are the empty

spaces, John has booked a tour, stopping by at

some places that look like people share hot water

bottles with their landlords. The show implores you

to learn lessons from your ceiling and realise Fred

Astaire actually knew very well what he was doing.

HAGS AHOY PRESENTS

RIGHT OF

ENTITLEMENT

Right of Entitlement is a two-hander set in the office

of educational psychologist, Jacob.

Cleo has been caught spray-painting obscure

quotes at railway stations. But she’s happy at home

and happy at school, so why the urge to rebel?

The session twists and veers from his story to hers

until it’s no longer certain who is the psychologist

and who the subject of study. Between them, in

true Socratic style, they contemplate the current

education system, social class and social mobility.

Jacob’s relationship with his son is brought into

question, as well as his own privileged engagement

with the educational system and his own career

ladder. Where is society going under a government

intent on expanding the grammar school system?

What impact will this have on fairness? How will

it affect an increasingly divided society? And what

future is there for a generation already struggling

with its own identity?

The King, recently married to his new, and sixth, wife,

Queen Catherine Parr, is in poor health; his leg

continues to cause him considerable pain and he is

His Majesty will recount the events of his long reign;

telling of his wives and his children, and at the close

– you, the audience – to petition him or question

him on ANY related subject. There may be some

surprising answers... a lively Q&A is assured!

LAMPHOUSE THEATRE PRESENTS

WILD BOY

Wild Boy is the incredible, true, moving story of a feral child found in the woods of Hanover, Germany, in

1726.

Unable to speak, or stand up straight, the Wild Boy was named Peter and taken to the court of King

George I, where he lived as a pet. The King quickly became bored of the child and soon Peter’s story was

lost to legend, until a fire broke out in a Norwich prison. During the evacuation one of the inmates was

recognised as the Wild Boy.

This production tells Peter’s story with luscious live music, movement, puppetry and magic and questions

what it means to be human.

NEW HORIZONS: INTERNATIONAL INSPIRATION

The Garage and Norwich Charitable Trusts present 'New Horizons: International Inspiration' -

a provocative, proactive and practical event for leaders and doers across the arts sector. The

focus of this year’s New Horizons looks at international work, and asks how international work

can positively impact our practice, our organisations and our communities.

Our aim is to make the event as practically useful as possible, so that delegates go away more

clued up - and more fired up - and with a clear idea of what they will do differently as a result

of attending.

Across the day there will be a range of provocations, conversations, and how to sessions, so

that, whether you're a senior manager or a practitioner there's something of value to you.

COST: £25 per delegate, including lunch
