I don’t consider myself a religious person but I have found such an amazing community of people through Chabad who share the same cultural values as me. I love Chabad at Chapman because they are so inclusive and don’t care how religious you are.The Rabbi and Mushky are so welcoming and are always there for me and everyone else whenever they need anything whether it’s fresh matzo ball soup delivered to your front door or weekly Shabbat dinners. I have gained so many lasting friendships and I am so grateful for the huge part Chabad has played during my college experience. It really is my home away from home and I am so lucky to have met so many amazing people. - Brooke Senit, Junior at Chapman University _____ YOUR STORY _____ HOW YOU GAVE ME A PLACE A P E E K I N S I D E T H E L I V E S O F T W O C H A P M A N J E W S Beyond all of the important lessons I learned, what I enjoyed most was coming to Chabad and spending time with other Jews from my campus. We not only were able to learn about our Jewish identity, but were able to meet each other, develop relationships, spend time together, and actually get close enough to spend time together outside of class (true story!). Spending time at Chabad has not only taught me lessons but also brought me closer to other Jews on my campus. Additionally, traditions and practices greatly define Judaism. They are practices that have been repeated for thousands of years that attach children to their parents, cousins miles away, and friends who come from different families. Tradition is a deep-seated part of Judaism. Without Chabad, we would not have a safe and welcoming place to go to keep up and take part in these traditions.
