Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers Coach
Joe Kitchell
Joe Kitchell is a 2007 graduate of La Salle High School. He graduated from
Xavier University in 2011. Kitchell coached at La Salle High School from 2007
– 2012. This is his sixth season coaching at Centerville where he also teaches
Social Studies. He and his family live in Centerville.
Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Line
Adam Taylor
Adam Taylor is a 1997 graduate of Centerville High School where he
played football and baseball. He was a Sonny Unger award winner
his senior year. He attended the University of Toledo on a baseball
scholarship. Taylor has been in coaching and teaching since 2004.
After a three year break from coaching, he returned to the Elks as
an offensive line coach in 2017. In 2018, he returned to coaching the
defensive line for the Elks. He is a social studies teacher at Centerville
High School. He and his family reside in Centerville.
Defensive Line
Greg Karpinsky
Greg Karpinsky, a graduate of Woodridge High School, played defensive line
at University of Akron where he earned a degree in business in 1988. He
coached at Akron Hoban High School and Woodridge High School while
pursuing a second degree in education. From 1991-93, he coached the
linebackers at Ball State before spending the 1993-94 season at Notre Dame
working with the defensive line. He was on the University of Cincinnati staff as
a Defensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator from 1994 until he began
a career in industrial sales in 1999. He came out of coaching “retirement” to
join the CHS Freshman Football Staff and is now in his fifth season coaching
defensive line on the Centerville Varsity staff. He still works in sales full-time
and lives in Centerville with his family.
