We actively support the water, sanitation, and other health-related needs of
residents within our partner communities, ensuring greater wellbeing for all.
ENTERPRISE
Training our partner communities in self-support and income-generating
activities, we help drive the growth of economic opportunity and deliver
other innovations to positively impact local livelihoods.

equity and sustainability from tourism is
becoming a key element of every holiday
– and ensuring that the local community benefits
from the tourist economy is important to the
majority of our A&K Escorted Tours clients.
From its inception in 1982, Abercrombie &
Kent Philanthropy (AKP) has been dedicated to
positively impacting lives and livelihoods in the
communities to which our guests travel.
From Africa to Asia, Latin America to the
Arctic Circle, we are working with partner
communities on 42 education, healthcare,
conservation, and enterprise development
projects, across 22 countries, and with nine
full-time A&K Philanthropy co-ordinators –
a philanthropic commitment unequalled by
our peers.
We are committed to ensuring guests learn
about our investment in local communities as
an integral part of their travel experience. For
many of our clients, their ‘wow’ moment comes
courtesy of A&K Philanthropy projects – the
co-ordinators at work on these projects, and
the face-to-face interactions with communities
reveal genuine local perspectives. From visiting
villages benefiting from tourism in their ancestral
homelands, to witnessing the impact of clean
water from AKP-dug wells in Cambodia, guests
learn how these communities are tackling big
challenges and achieving inspirational triumphs.
