Editorial hairstylists strive to enter the realm of pure art
to convey subliminal messages, provoke, and trigger
personal interpretations. Claudio Lazo is one such artist.

It’s obvious that at first glance there is much more to these images than just hair. This collection manifests a vision that
reaches beyond trends and beauty and into the realm of artwork. There is a message here: of beauty of course, but also of
trammels, limitations, constrictions. Indeed, Claudio Lazo, Wella Artist and owner of C the Salon in Los Angeles, admits,
“The idea that inspired these photos is ‘self expression’, and how hairdressers and creative artist are bound with self doubt.”
He then elaborated, “Each of these photos represents a different way we hide our faces and hesitate to speak out. We ask
questions like: ‘Why can’t I express myself?’ ‘Does anyone really care what I have to say?’ ‘How do we break the ties that
bind us and reach the fulfillment we desire?’” Here there are several stories to be told... each in its own way.
Llongueras
better than ever
Llongueras salons started in January 2018 a new stage
of renovation with its alliance with the consolidated
group, Provalliance, coming up #TheNewLlongueras.
In January 2018, the French group Provalliance, led by Frédéric Logodin (CEO of Provalliance Spain)
announced the acquisition of Llongueras salons, becoming the undisputed leader of hairdressing in Spain,
managing more than 300 salons. Leadership added to the one that the group already had in Europe and to
a second place worldwide with approximately 4000 salons.
In this way, the group rebuilt a legendary brand and an impeccable professional reputation, elevating the
brand to its maximum splendor.
The objective of the alliance was to achieve a greater expansion both nationally and internationally, through
the renewal of, not only its image and communication, but also the facilities and the continuous training of
its teams. All this orchestrated to continue offering its hairdressing services at the highest levels of quality
and luxury.
Regarding the image, Llongueras presents a new concept of experiential salon, where design, comfort and
new trends prevail. This new concept arises from the result of dismantling the structure of the conventional
hairdressing salon to transform it into an atelier inspired by the versatile artist Lluís Llongueras. The new
Llongueras space reflects modernity, warmth and innovation. In short, spaces that invite the consumer to
disconnect and enjoy a luxurious service.
In addition to the modernization and improvement of the Llongueras salons, another new strategic line of
the firm is the presentation of new collections, with a renewed image standard, with a high-level
production. Those collections are done in collaboration with the internationally renowned Spanish
photographer Valero Rioja.

A family for which the training is a fundamental pillar to transmit values, ideas and professional growth.
All professionals receive constant training offering all their stylists the latest in methodology, tradition, style

Mumbai 2019 was
an event that focused

number of attendees
last September.

Cosmoprof India Mumbai
closed the 2019 edition
with excellent results,
reflecting the constant
growth of the cosmetics
industry in India: from
107 exhibitors in 2018,
237 exhibiting companies from
23 countries and regions took
part to the 2019 edition. Compared
to 3,898 attendees last September,
7,429 professionals attended the
three days of the event this year.
The event hosted the best of local
and international companies for
all sectors: ingredients and raw
materials, machinery, OEM,
contract manufacturing and private
labels, primary and secondary
packaging, service providers,
finished products - divided into
Perfumery and Cosmetics, Beauty
Salon and Spa, Hair, Nail and
Natural & Organic. Country
pavilions from Italy, USA and
South Korea exhibited on the show
floor, too. The event also hosted
the Cosmoprof India Awards,
which sought to reward exhibiting
companies that are investing
in research and innovation, to
present new proposals to Indian
consumers. The winners, chosen by
a jury of 11 international cosmetic
industry experts, were announced
at the Cosmoprof India Gala
Night, on Wednesday, June 12.

reminds us that one crucial skill we often overlook is Communication.

her heart to us and reveal her
inner-most worries and concerns.
We're not their therapists! Then, of
course, there is the question of how
we communicate with each other
as salon professionals - while we
probably always ensure we speak to
our boss with a fair degree of
deference and respect, what about
juniors and the apprentices?! Good
communication is a key that can
define stylists’ success, whether it's
with clients, technicians, juniors, or
anyone who may pop up in the
salon during the daily working
routine.

COMMUNICATION
FEELING Professional recently
held its hegely successful “Art of
Communication” course in
collaboration with the well-known
Asian education organisation -
Debut Hair Academy. Ms. Rena
Wang, Marketing Director of
Debut Hair Academy who is also a
certificated psychology consultant,
has studied the topic of
communication in salon for many
years and she summarised her
successful communication method
for hair stylists as “Art of
Communications”. In her tutorial,
Rena put stylists into groups to
participle in role-play scenarios
and personality classifications for
their self-recognition and then
guided them into the innermost
world of the female, in order to
help them understand understand
their thinking and reasoning
processes. “Great professional
technical skills make an excellent
stylist, but great communication
skills make a master,” commented
Romeo Li, Operation Executive
Manager of FEELING Professional
Hong Kong. “Co-operation with
Debut Hair Academy is a milestone
of FEELING Professional to
provide a more attractive and
impressive course for our industry.”
