Blacklist Bar

The Entrecôte is a restaurant and brasserie right

in the heart of Berlin, reflecting the spirit of Paris.

While the “brasserie lifestyle spirit” can normally

only be found in Paris, loved by many poets, writers

and artists, The Entrecôte has brought this esprit

to life in Berlin.

You will find typical French cuisine, such as Le

Saumon Fumé, Les Escargots, Le Foie Gras, Les

Huitres Fines de Claires, and that’s just the starters.

The Entrecôte has maintained its independence

and Berlin style, and has not copied the interiors

of its Parisian cousins. The modern and elegant

but very comfortable interior is a priority of the

The Blacklist Bar offers a creative mix of modern

drinks, a cool contemporary kitchen and high

design interior. The look is eclectically inspired by

design elements that recall Rio de Janeiro, Miami,

Tel Aviv and a former 1950s church.

Leonardo Weissmann, former bar manager of

the legendary Universum lounge and Marbu bar,

developed the Blacklist Bar concept; while Patrick

Rexhausen, known for creating innovative kitchen

concepts in the German culinary scene for over

25 years, oversees the delicious treats from the

kitchen. This is also the bar where fashionable

guests party to the city’s best DJs.

In the early 19th century, Berlin became a home

to the romantic architecture movement. The

southwest district of Zehlendorf in particular

turned into Berlin most romantic corner with a

string of castles and gardens inspired by Rome and

Ancient Egypt.

On Lake Wannsee, for example, Peacock Island’s

white fairy-tale castle and surrounding gardens

are straight out of a fantasy tale. In 1794, Prussian

King Friedrich Wilhelm II commissioned carpenter

Johann Gottlieb Brendel to build a “little summer

palace” for his mistress, Countess Wilhelmine von

Lichtenau, who also provided the interior design.

Nearby, a farm was built in the style of a gothic

monastery, while between 1820 and 1830 an

aviary as well as a Palm Tree Conservatory were

added. Gardens were later redesigned in the

romantic style by gardener Peter Joseph Lenné.
