OUR PEOPLE


CLIFTON YASUTOMI<br />

CWS®, AIF®<br />

With a background in engineering for the CIA (Central Intelligence<br />

Agency), Clifton began his financial advising practice with Merrill Lynch<br />

in Honolulu in 2005. He has been a special guest on business talk<br />

radio, was a regular contributor to the Wall Street Business Network<br />

with weekly "Money Thought" radio commentaries and conducts<br />

financial education classes for various organizations. Coming from a<br />

family of teachers, his focus is simplifying the sophisticated principles<br />

and strategies of finance for his clients through personal education.<br />

In 2014 Clifton completed studies to earn the Certified Wealth<br />

Strategist (CWS) designation from the Cannon Financial Institute and<br />

the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation in 2019.<br />

Clifton serves as the Chairman of The Salvation Army Echelon Group,<br />

was an active member of the Iolani Alumni Association and was the<br />

youngest Rotary Club president in Hawaii. Clifton and his wife Renee<br />

lead a weekly Bible study group. Clifton also serves his church at<br />

Grace Bible Honolulu as a board member and leads the investment<br />

committee. Outside of the office, Clifton enjoys surfing, basketball,<br />

golf, and spending time with his wife, 4 year old son and 1 year old<br />

baby.


KEVIN ASANO<br />

CWS®<br />

With over 18 years in the financial planning industry, Kevin is one of the<br />

visionary co-founders of his former firm Pacific Rim Legacy Group LLC and<br />

has served over 500 families. As a Certified Wealth Strategist, he is<br />

passionate about helping clients achieve financial freedom and peace of<br />

mind in retirement by implementing custom-built strategies tailored to their<br />

individual needs. As a former pastor, Kevin also understands and values the<br />

importance of connecting with each client on a personal level to better<br />

guide them towards their financial goals.<br />

Kevin graduated from San Jose State University and earned a Bachelors of<br />

Science degree in Accounting. He also holds the professional designation<br />

of Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) along with licenses for Life & Health<br />

Insurance and Securities (Series 6,7,9/10,26,63,65 & 99).<br />

In addition to his success in the financial industry, Kevin is also a 7 th degree<br />

black belt in judo, President of Hawaii Judo, Inc., and the Executive<br />

Instructor at the Leeward & Honolulu Judo Clubs. In 2019 he was<br />

recognized by the Government of Japan with the Foreign Minister’s<br />

Certificate of Commendation, which awards those who made outstanding<br />

contributions to the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and the<br />

United States. He is a motivational speaker and author of his 2008<br />

autobiography, “Step Onto the Mat”, which highlights his discipline and<br />

journey to becoming an Olympic Silver Medalist at the 1988 Summer<br />

Olympics.<br />

With all of life’s blessings, Kevin is most grateful to be a husband to wife,<br />

Mari and father to their five children. Kevin and his wife both serve as small<br />

group leaders for their church. His whole family is active in Judo, with his<br />

three older daughters as black belts and his two younger sons following in<br />

his footsteps. Together, the family frequently travels to Japan for business,<br />

judo and visiting family.


Nick Abbott,<br />

AAMS®<br />

EXPERIENCE* AND BACKGROUND<br />

As a financial advisor, Nick believes it is important to invest his time in his<br />

client relationships. Developing trust and rapport while gaining<br />

understanding of each unique situation allows him to create appropriate<br />

and comprehensive strategies. Whether for personal estates or<br />

businesses, Nick's goal is to work closely with you toward your long-term<br />

goals.<br />

EDUCATION<br />

Nick has developed and refined his investment experience and insurance<br />

planning over the past 12 years. 10 of those years were at Edward Jones<br />

where he was recognized for his client service excellence (2011-2017)<br />

and served on the Hawaii leadership team (2010-2018). Nick completed a<br />

bachelor’s of business administration with a major in finance, options and<br />

the derivative markets from the University of Hawaii Manoa.<br />

He also earned the AAMS® (Accredited Asset Management Specialist)<br />

professional designation and holds registrations, licenses, and<br />

designations recommended for his work as a financial advisor: Series 7,<br />

Series 66, State Life and Health Insurance licenses for Hawaii, California,<br />

Washington, Michigan, Texas and Florida.<br />

INTERESTS<br />

Nick enjoys spending time with his loving wife, Janean, and energetic 3yo<br />

son. He also serves on the board of his local church and as past president<br />

for the Rotary Club of Hawaii Kai, the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce,<br />

Being in the Financial Industry these past 33 years have allowed me to<br />

meet with hundreds of individuals and families who all desire what is best<br />

for their future, and the future of their loved ones. It has taught me the<br />

importance of listening, understanding and engaging with the lives of my<br />

clients to develop strategies and roadmaps which bring security, stability<br />

and confidence in their financial and estate goals.<br />
