Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the
coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the
precious crop from the earth, being patient
with it until it receives the early and the late
rains. 8 You also must be patient.
Strengthen your hearts, for the coming of

Jennell N. May is the Worship Support Coordinator
for Hope UMC. She recently moved back to
Farmington Hills after residing in Los Angeles for 10
years. She is a June 2018 graduate of Fuller
Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, earning her
M.A. in Theology & Ministry, with a focus in Worship,
Theology, and the Arts. Jennell earned her B.A. at
Columbia College Chicago, in IL for Television
Producing. She also attended Oakland Community
College, in Farmington Hills and Howard University,
in Washington DC.
She was baptized at Hope UMC in June of 2008 and
is a current member. She has had a passion for
community outreach since she was very young. In
Los Angeles, she tutored homeless children with
special needs for 9 years, amongst several other
social justice activities. Someday Jennell would love
to combine her love for ministry with her passion for
comedy.
One of her favorite Bible verses is John 16:13“But
when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you
into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will
speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is
yet to come."

don’t want to take that long walk down the aisle, you can join Hope
Church just by calling Reverend Green at 248-262-5129. We will
begin the process with your call or you can stop by the church
office Tuesday through Friday.
We are looking for responsible and caring adult(s) with patience to
assist those members of Hope that use the van to come to worship
on Sundays. Valid license and clean driving record needed.

The Wall of Honor
Hope’s Wall of Honor is an everlasting tribute to our Veterans. It was designed and
donated to Hope by Brother Sid Taylor, a US Marine, Vietnam combat veteran and
beloved member of Hope. It is a memorial tribute to commemorate the sacrifices our
veterans have made for our country. We are grateful to Sid and his family for blessing
us all with the
beautiful Wall of
New names are added to the Wall of Honor every Veteran’s Day. If you, a loved one, or
a friend served in the armed forces and would like to be added to the Wall, please
complete the Wall of Honor form located in the Literature Rack and place it in the Wall of

Praise God, Hope, for your gifts of your time, talents and your donations towards making Tony
Crosby House the Homeless Week a great success. The minute our guests arrived to our church
they were cared for and loved. They were well-fed, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our
guests spoke of how nice everyone was and how welcomed they felt at our church. Your
willingness to help those who are temporarily experiencing a setback fulfills the word in Matthew
25:35-40 that did unto our Lord when you did it unto the least of these.
God bless all who participated and demonstrating love in action.

MISSIONS' FOOD PANTRY STOCK UP
Hope, we need your help to stock our pantry to feed our neighbors in
need for the upcoming year. Your donations can be placed in the
Missions food barrels near the kitchen and Room 24 anytime during
the week.
The following items are of special need:
Cereal, canned tuna and salmon, canned fruits and
vegetables, canned soups, rice, beans,
mashed potatoes, boxed macaroni and cheese, pancake mix,
syrup, canned pasta meals, canned chili, peanut butter, jelly
and juice.
Last year Hope blessed approximately 400 families with a food
basket!
