We are a small, friendly college based in beautiful buildings in Saltaire Village, offering great full-time and part-time courses, apprenticeships and traineeships.

Clubs & Enrichment Activities

There is a lot going on at lunchtime and after classes

finish, most of which is free of charge. Activities include

The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, badminton,

table tennis, football, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball,

boxercise, basketball, cricket & netball, circuit/fitness

training, pool, LAN (local area network) & console

gaming. These activities change regularly depending

on their demand and if we don’t offer your favourite

hobby/club, tell us and we’ll see if we can set it up.

Fitness Suite

We want all of our students to feel fit, healthy and

happy. All students can access the free Fitness Suite

based in Victoria Hall. Once you have completed your

induction, you are free to use the equipment to build

muscle, tone up or just improve your fitness whilst

socialising with friends.


We have lots of opportunities to enrich your CV or

university application, improve your leadership skills

and make you stand out from the crowd!

• Gain valuable experience, rewards and even

additional qualifications within the College

working with local agencies and service providers.

• Organise and promote events.

• Fundraise for local & national charities and

organisations to claim a nationally recognised

certificate through vInspired.

• Complete voluntary work as part of The Duke of

Edinburgh Award.

• Take part in the National Citizen Service or NCS,

as it’s more commonly known.

Student Discount

If you are a student or an apprentice, you are eligible to

buy an NUS TOTUM card for £14.99. With the card, you

will be able to take advantage of a variety of student

discounts including in supermarkets, on clothing &

beauty items, travel, restaurants and UK attractions.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC)

Offering more than just books...

The Learning Resource Centre is for everyone at

Shipley College. Our helpful, friendly team of staff are

always ready to lend a hand and offer advice. Based

in our Exhibition Building, the LRC provides a ‘onestop-shop’

for information, computing, study and

coursework presentation requirements.

There is a flexible learning environment with

individual and group study work areas where you can

access a wide variety of learning resources including

books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs and online


The LRC has a wide range of mobile technology

available to borrow to support your learning needs,

including laptops, digital & video cameras and audio

recorders. We also have equipment available to

support students with additional learning needs.

Just remember, you will need your College ID badge

to borrow our resources. We look forward to
