Volunteer Opportunity

Skate Program Monitor

Personnel Support Programs (PSP)

15 Wing, Moose Jaw

Summary: Under the supervision of the Facilities Coordinator, the Skate Program Monitor oversees

public skating, organizes equipment set up and equipment take down. He/she oversees and interacts with

participants during activities and monitors start and finish times of skate programs. The Skate Program

Monitor monitors all participants and ensures the established safety rules are followed during the skating

period. He/she records attendance as required.

Schedule:

Hours to be determined in conjunction with PSP Facilities Coordinator to determine available ice times,

anticipated to be a 2 hour block on Saturdays or Sundays between 3-6pm.

Qualifications:

Ability to skate

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications, preferred but not required

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development, preferred but not required

Language requirement:

English essential for functional verbal interaction, bilingual an asset

Experience Requirements:

In ice skating, in conjunction with figure skating, hockey, ringette, or other.

In behavior and patron management.

Demonstrating shared competencies: client service, organizational knowledge, communication,

innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Security:

Reliability Status, includes a police records check for service with the vulnerable sector

Start Date: November 2019
