Risk and reward rule at this spectacular
through hundreds of acres of country parkland in
Buckinghamshire.
Meandering through natural valleys, lakes and
streams, the par 73 Magnolia Park is a superb
test for golfers of all abilities, with the back
nine providing an exacting challenge for more
experienced players. A particular highlight is the
protecting the green, could make a difference to
the scorecard.
Magnolia Park has several signature holes. Look
out for the 2nd; this par 3 is surrounded by
stunning woodland and the green sits tightly
behind one of the natural lakes.
Inn at Aird A Bhasair
The Inn at Aird A Bhasair is one of the oldest inns
on Skye and is in an ideal location for visitors
using the ferry to Mallaig. It’s also perfectly placed
for exploring the island, including Skye’s newest
distillery at Torabhaig.
All of the rooms at the Inn are en-suite and
available as singles, doubles and twins and either
have views over the waters of the Sound of Sleat
towards the hills of Knoydart or enjoy garden and
woodland views.
The cuisine here is delicious; locally caught seafood
and local venison and game create a seasonal
menu to enjoy in the Linne Restaurant, or al fresco
during the summer months. The MacNamara Bar
and Bothan Bar, which is dog friendly, make a
great setting for enjoying some of the local
specialities, such as PráBan Gaelic Whiskies, and
Uisge Lusach Gaelic Gin.
Riverside Apartments
Back on the mainland and be prepared to be
seduced by the wildness and beauty of the
county of Caithness. It’s here where fertile crofts
and moorlands merge with low-lying grasslands
leading to lochs and rivers. Where Atlantic waves
crash into rugged coast lines and sandy beaches,
and where whales, dolphins, puffins and seals
beguile wildlife lovers.
Sitting astride the River Wick, the former Viking
settlement of Wick is the main town. A must-stay
Hogmanay Hideaways
location for history buffs, the town’s heritage
centre reflects on the local fishing industry that was
thriving in the mid 19th century. The ruins of two
12th century castles and Noss Head Lighthouse are
magnets for visitors too.
Located in the town centre the fully serviced
Riverside Apartments make a good base for
discovery and delicious duvet days! With a location
that works equally well for exploration or escapism,
these two luxury apartments offer style, space and
value for money with the convenience of local
restaurants, cafés and bars all within a short stroll.
