• A new picnic table is now in place for all to enjoy.

• Trees at the entrances and parks have been trimmed.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN REVIEW

As promised, we will now be including parts of the Architectural Design

Review in the Monthly Newsletter to keep our residents more aware of

them. Following are the Fence Guidelines for the application.

1. Wood Fence Construction: Wooden fences facing the front street

or along any side street, rear street property line or greenbelt shall be

constructed with all pickets on the outside so that no posts or rails are

visible from the street. All other wooden fences must be constructed in

the manner described above or must be constructed in panels (each of

which is 6 to 8 feet in length) erected in a “good neighbor” fashion so that

posts and rails are exposed only on alternate panels when viewed from

either side of the fence.

2. Gates: All gates shall be constructed with the same materials as the

fence. The hinges and latches used on the gate should be of the same

style and quality of those used throughout the subdivision.

3. Color:

a. Wood Fences: No portion of a wood fences on a lot which is visible

from any street may be painted or stained. Portions of a fence, which are

not visible from any street may be stained in acceptable earthtone colors

of brown, beige or gray. The Committee may maintain a chart depicting

examples of earthtone colors and shades of earthtone colors for stains of

wood fences. Each stain color sample submitted by a homeowner shall

be compared to the colors and shades of colors set forth of the fence

stain color chart to assure that each approved stain is harmonious with

the color scheme established for the subdivision.

b. Wrought Iron Fences: Wrought Iron fences must be black and nor

more than six feet (6’) in height. Spacing bars must be no greater than

four inches (4”) on center. The location of all wrought iron fences must be

approved by the Committee.

4. Chain Link and Wire Fences: There shall be no chain link or wire fences.

5. Setback Lines: Fences may not be constructed on a lot forward of the

front line of the main structure.

6. Maintenance of Fences: Pickets, rails or bars that are broken, warped,

bent, sagging or which otherwise deteriorated must be promptly repaired

or replaced. All fences which are stained (on interior surfaces) shall be

properly maintained to prvent cracking, chipping fading or mildewing.

7. Height of Fences: All perimeter fences shall be six feet (6’) in height.

Fences between the house and garage may be between four and six feet

(4’-6’); however, no fence shall exceed six feet (6’) in height.

8. Attachments: No structure may be attached to a fence unless otherwise

provided by these Guidelines.

9. Trellis: No trellis is allowed against any surface on outside of the

residence, garage or fence. If used in backyard, trellis must not exceed six

feet (6’) in height, measuring from the ground.

For additional detail concerning the Application Procedures and

General Guidelines, please visit www.townsquare.nabrnetwork.com. An

application for Requesting Home Improvement Approval can also be

found there.

DO US A BIG FAVOR!

centerpointenergy.com/outage or call 713-659-2111. The online form

will ask you to give them the vertical numbers listed on the pole and a

nearby address and then DONE! Centerpoint will come out within 5 days

to replace the light. This helps keep our blocks totally lit up. Thank you

CV - you are the BEST NEIGHBORS.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 609

Boy Scout Troop 609 is a specialized for Boys with high functioning

Autism Spectrum Disorders. They meet at the Westview School on the 1 st

and 3 rd Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:30 AM.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 838

Troop 838 is a small pack located near Hwy 6 and West Road at the Crossbridges

Church. We are between the Copperfield and Aberdeen neighborhoods. Being

a smaller troop allows us to be flexible and address the needs of our scouts more

nimbly. We currently have boys from ages 11 to 17 within our group working

to make Eagle. We try to camp monthly, with a wide variety of locations on our

agenda. The different locations are chosen by the senior boys to more directly

meet our training needs and to keep expenses low. In fact, we have some of the

lowest expenses in the area. Our adult leaders are all experienced with years

of scouting under their belt per individual. We also work closely with several

local packs of cub scouts and participate in civic duties around the area as well.

Please contact us at TROOP838CYPRESS.ORG or 414-331-3321.

TROOP 1865

Troop 1865 runs a diverse program of outdoor and service activities,

with events selected by the scouts themselves. We meet Mondays at 6:30

PM, at the Copperfield HOA building on Willow River and Hwy 6, behind

Labay. We’ve gone backpacking through the National Forest, rappelling

off Enchanted Rock, Survival camping, boating, canoeing and anything

else the scouts can dream up. We do high-adventure camping at

Philmont and Seabase. Our advancement program has enabled scout to

achieve the coveted rank of Eagle Scout at 10 times the national average

rate. We see scouting as a practice run on adult life. Scouts learn about

leadership and teamwork through having to work together in the field.

We learn about responsibility through fund-raising activities that have

allowed the entire troop to pay for their own summer camp each year.

Eggnog Pie

You could make this on National Eggnog Day December 24th!

INGREDIENTS:

1 (.25 ounce) package unflavored gelatin

1/4 cup cold water

1 cup milk

1/2 cup white sugar

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1/4 cup rum

1 cup whipping cream

1/4 pinch white sugar

1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked or

graham cracker pie crust

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS:

In a small bowl, combine gelatin and cold water; set aside to soften.

Combine milk and 1/2 cup sugar in a small glass bowl. Microwave for 3

minutes or until milk begins to boil.

In a steady stream, pour hot milk into beaten eggs, whisking constantly.

Cook custard in the microwave, whisking after each minute, until it

thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. Stir in softened gelatin and mix until

melted. Stir in rum. Let filling cool to room temperature. (If you refrigerate

it, stir occasionally to prevent gelatin from setting too soon.)

In a medium bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form; beat in 1/4 cup

sugar. Set aside 1/2 cup of whipped cream for garnish; keep refrigerated.

Fold remaining whipped cream into eggnog mixture. Pour filling into

pie crust and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Garnish with reserved

whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.
