Poverty affects all of us.
It attacks the very fabric of our society.
It erodes self-respect and personal dignity.
It perpetuates the false belief that
human worth is linked to money, looks,
possessions and status.
It divides families and wrecks social
cohesion.
It is at the root of most violence.
It undermines our safety and destroys our
stability.
It ensures that the majority of our people
remain unemployable – unable to pay for
their own and their children’s education.
It cripples our workforce, reducing our
collective productivity.
It discourages foreign investment.
Photo: Jan Tutter / flickr
It destabilises the very foundations of
business: the expansion of a robust
consumer base.
l
Everything is connected.
Everything affects everything else.
Do what is within your power to help the
human beings in your circle of influence
achieve their full potential.
We will all benefit.

for a magazine seller.
We could create so many
‘jobs’ with little effort or
expense – other than the small
change of wealthy passersby.
WHO ARE WE TALKiNG TO?
Our publications and events transcend demographics
and lifestyles because they address communal issues in
a way that can be ‘heard’ by all South Africans. Despite
our differences, we all have a vested interest in the
well-being of our country – if only because our own
well-being is closely tied to it.
Our publications and events encourage understanding
and compassion, and offer suggestions for practical
actions that can be taken by individuals, families,
communities, concerned onlookers, businesses and
policy-makers to improve our shared world.
Even though advertising is the financial engine
that makes our work possible, we are not driven by
advertising revenue, but by a deep commitment to help
eradicate poverty, unemployment and socio-economic
inequality in South Africa.
DIRECTORY PUBLISHING
SCHEDULE
We do not have a fixed publishing schedule
for the Resource Directory. While we aim for
a minimum print run of 30,000 copies, we can
proceed with printing when we have pre-print
orders for as few as 6,000 copies.
We are continuously updating and adding to
the book’s content and can initiate a print run
of a new edition whenever we have received
sufficient pre-print orders. So, book your
advertising space now. We will notify you well
in advance to allow time to submit your printready
materials to us, and we will only invoice
once we proceed with printing.
